HTML5 is the latest version of HTML that provides new features for building webpages and applications. It was developed by the W3C and WHATWG to standardize web development and provide multimedia capabilities without plugins. Some key features of HTML5 include canvas drawing, native audio and video playback, local storage, and new elements and attributes that enhance webpage design and functionality. It aims to make web development more powerful, flexible and accessible across different browsers.

2. WHAT IS HTML5?
HTML5 is a newest version of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). It is an ongoing process
that took place by combined efforts of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Web
Hypertext Application Technology Working Group (WHATWG). The initial phase for the
development of HTML5 started in 2004 by WHATWG that has been developed by edited by
David Hyatt of Apple and Ian Hickson of Google, Inc. There are several features in the latest

indicate standard audio element to play sound files.
• Web Storage: There are two methods namely session storage and local storage used for
storing data without any effect the website's performance.
