Serial interface module for ethernet based applicationseSAT Journals
Abstract The introduction of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) which includes thousands of logic gates has made it feasible to prove specific software function on the particular hardware. This reduces the design time and the execution time and makes the embedded system to respond faster as a real time system. This paper serial interface module for Ethernet based Applications deals with the Study and the implementation of the Tri-mode Ethernet Media access control (TEMAC) which is present in the FPGA core. The Virtex-5 FPGA supports the 10Mbps, 100Mbps as well as 1000Mbps but in this paper contains the implementation of 1000Mbps (1Gigabit bits per second) data transfer rate. This project basically deals with communication established between the FPGA core and the PC. The IP core is interfaced with its transceiver module and communicated to the PC using Ethernet medium. The communication established is verified by interfacing the FIFO and the UART VHDL codes to the TEMAC IP core present on the Virtex-5 FPGA. The result at each module is verified on the Chipscope pro analyzer and the packet transmitted from FPGA to the PC is verified on the Wireshark software. Key Words: FPGA, Ethernet, TEMAC core , and Gigabit.
New methodologies for cultural heritage enhancementeSAT Journals
Abstract This article is the outcome of a research on survey digital techniques for acquiring knowledge, documentation and enhancement of the architectural heritage. Through this research, the current low-cost image-based modeling techniques have been tried and tested. The goal was to identify an operative methodological way for the transmission of the cultural heritage through metrically reliable 3D photographic models that can be used both in the contexts of fruition and in 3D virtual repository (3D Icons, Europeana). In particular, in this article, I report the results of research applied to the Auteri Chapel, a micro-architecture of 1871, located in the monumental cemetery of Catania. The proposed methodology takes advantage of analytical drawing and survey tools to understand and decode not only the geometric and formal aspects of the architectural building but also the symbolic and semantic ones (use of symbolic shapes, search for beauty, meaning of decoration) related to the specific connotation of these architectures of memory. Abstract
As the use of computers is ever increasing new and easier methods of interaction with the system are needed. Augmented reality makes any application more interactive and full of life making it easier and attractive. The conventional mouse and keyboard can be replaced by human hand to interact with the computer. Addition of augmented reality to do so will make it more attractive. The same concept of using hand as interaction device and adding augmented reality can be used for retrieval of information from the internet. This will make our daily tasks relating computer easier and fun increasing productivity.

Comparative study of supersonic nozzleseSAT Journals
Abstract
In this experiment, comparative flow analysis of two different nozzles has been performed. The analysis has been performed according to the shape of the nozzles by keeping the same input parameters. The experiment has been carried out in two preliminary steps. First one includes modeling and CFD analysis and the later part is about comparing their different properties. For this analysis, two dimensional axisymmetric nozzle geometries were drawn in Solid Works and CFD analysis is done using Fluent. The basic difference between these two nozzle geometries is their outlet divergence angle, whereas the inlet cross-sectional area, throat cross-sectional area and nozzle length are exactly same. These two nozzle geometries were drawn having outlet divergence angle 10° and 20° respectively. Velocity, pressure and temperature distribution on both nozzles have been studied to take the final decision. From analysis, it is clearly observed that the nozzle having outlet divergence angle 20° gives higher exit velocity with Mach number of 5.62 whereas the nozzle with outlet divergence angle 10° gives an exit velocity with Mach number of 4.31. Besides, lower temperature distribution and lower pressure distribution were observed in the nozzle with outlet divergence angle 20° throughout the expansion zone and nozzle with outlet divergence angle 10° exhibits higher temperature and pressure throughout the expansion zone. As the nozzle with divergence angle 20° gives higher exit velocity, it is the better one between these two nozzles.
