Collaboration
Relational Harmony - In cultures that value collectivism, such as Filipino culture,

Behavior, Other-Centeredness, Pakikipagkapwa, Compassion, Fairness, Kindness,
and Collaboration. It prioritizes avoiding conflict, nurturing connections, and
maintaining balance in relationships rather than focusing on individualism.
Example a couple negotiating different weekend preferences—one wanting to go out
and the other wanting to stay home—by splitting the time so both feel heard and
valued.
LearningResource2026-2027
Key moments in the scenario
The Situation: Partners face a minor clash in desires for their free time.
Active Listening: One partner shares their wish to rest at home, while the other
expresses a desire to see friends, and both listen without cutting each other off.
Empathy and Respect: Each person acknowledges the other's feelings and accepts
the different need without anger or blame.
They agree to spend part of the weekend on a social outing and the rest on quiet
time at home, creating a balanced solution.

2. Empathy - is our ability to understand and share the
feelings of others. It's more than just saying ‘I know how you
feel’—it's about truly feeling someone else's emotions as if
they were your own.
Example: When a friend is feeling sad, instead of just saying,
‘Cheer up,’ you try to understand why they feel that way and
offer comfort.”

ourselves—not in a way that neglects our own needs, but in

for someone—it’s about understanding their struggles and
taking action to help.

compassion means offering support instead of ignoring their
feelings.
