learners and socially-responsible global citizens.
Teachers play a vital role in helping achieve this.
We are reporting on our two projects that we designed to:
encourage critical thinking
cultivate empathy
dispel stereotypes about the Middle East with the focus
on Iran
develop global awareness in our students
using AR and VR

Augmented Reality brings some
aspects of the virtual world into the
real world by superimposing virtual
information, images, and/or objects
on top of the real world.
A familiar example would be
Pokémon Go, an AR-based mobile
game.
Virtual Reality provides users
with an immersion in a virtual
environment, to the extent
that the brain accepts the
virtual environment as a real
environment.
Examples of VR are the flight
simulator for aviation training
and Second Life (SL).

Overview English language education no longer focuses merely on building and improving language skills, but also aims to develop independent-thinking learners and socially-responsible global citizens. Teachers play a vital role in helping achieve this. We are reporting on our two projects that we designed to: encourage critical thinking cultivate empathy dispel stereotypes about the Middle East with the focus on Iran develop global awareness in our students using AR and VR OurProjects Puerto Rico, September 2017 -- massive hurricane Antonio Vantaggiato, Universidad del Sagrado Corazón “A Bridge of Postcards” campaign on social media Our campaign: Bookmarks for Puerto Rico In class: a virtual trip to Puerto Rico and the campus using 3D videos and images (VR) Sent: * bookmarks * poster with an augmented message using Blippar (AR) Project1 Augmented Reality brings some aspects of the virtual world into the real world by superimposing virtual information, images, and/or objects on top of the real world. A familiar example would be Pokémon Go, an AR-based mobile game. Virtual Reality provides users with an immersion in a virtual environment, to the extent that the brain accepts the virtual environment as a real environment. Examples of VR are the flight simulator for aviation training and Second Life (SL). What Is AR?
