Trump White House Doubles Down on US Commitment to Blockchain
Speaking at Data Transparency 2017, a conference exploring the role of open data in government this week, two senior
White House officials emphasized that distributed ledger technology is increasingly being viewed as essential to U.S.
policy and strategy considerations.
"With artificial intelligence and blockchain, the [White House] is exploring a whole range of forward-leaning
capabilities that might be helpful to government," Margie Graves, acting federal chief information officer at the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB), said at the event.
The remarks are notable given that the OMB, which headed by is Congressional Blockchain Caucus co-founder Mick
Mulvaney, is responsible for carrying out the president's vision for the executive branch of government – a core tenet of
which is streamlining bureaucracy and improving responsiveness to citizens through technology.

Blockchain Healthcare SITREP Exclusive
On Thursday 28 Sep, Justin Herman, who heads up the GSA-led federal emerging citizen technology effort, announced via

partners and private citizens on ideas and use cases for artificial intelligence, blockchain, and virtual/augmented reality to
help improve government functioning and value to citizens.
As Mr. Herman noted, “Right now there is so much work being done in emerging technologies for the federal government,
but no public resources exist that allows decision-makers, businesses, policy-makers, researchers, me and of course you to
look across the map and see it.” Input is requested by Friday, 06 Oct. More info on the initiative can be found at:
