Born on May 25, 1980, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Evan was raised in Carmel, Indiana. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Spanish from Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis in 2002. During his undergraduate years, Evan earned a place on The National Dean’s List and took an active role in the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity’s Finance Committee. His academic achievements and leadership roles set the stage for his future legal career. Evan continued his education at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 2006. At Case Western, he was involved in the Jonathan M. Ault Mock Trial Team and was Vice President of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He was also recognized on the Dean’s List for his academic performance.
After completing his legal studies, Evan began his career at Kaufman, Drozdowski & Grendell, LLC in Cleveland. He worked on various legal matters, including business disputes, bankruptcy, real estate transactions, and probate. As his practice evolved, he began focusing on mergers and acquisitions, real estate deals, and offering general counsel services. His contributions and dedication to the firm led to his promotion to partner in 2017. Before joining Kaufman, Drozdowski & Grendell, Evan worked as Of Counsel at Lieberman, Dvorin & Dowd, LLC, focusing on business and commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, and real estate law.
Evan’s experience also includes serving as a non-equity partner at Chernett Wasserman, LLC, from 2009 to 2016. In this role, he managed the firm’s litigation practice, overseeing commercial disputes, bankruptcy cases, leasing issues, and employment law matters. His ability to manage a high volume of litigation cases, often involving over fifty active matters, was crucial to the firm’s success.
