aroundthe IbizaOldTownisa must,as istakingin a coffee oran ice cream inone of the small
traditional cafes.The harbourareaof Ibizatownisalsoworth a visit,we spentacouple amusinghours
sippingsangriaina bar late one afternoonwatchingthe promenadingDragQueens!
ShoppingisgreatinIbizatown,withlotsof market stallsand a good selectionof trendylittleboutiques.
A lazyafternoononthe beachwas nextonthe menu,so we headedforTalamancabeach.Thisbeach is
longand sandywitha woodenboardwalkrunningthe entire lengthof the beachofferinggood
restaurants.The beachis popularandisonlya 15 minsstroll fromthe townpast the marina,
alternativelyyoucanreachit by busor ferryfrom the marina.Later inthe weekwe discoveredfavourite
beachwas Las Salinasonthe southernmosttipof Ibiza.Itis namedafter the saltlakesand isthe "in"
beachto hang out andwatch the party animalsunwindwhilstdippinginthe crystal clearwaters.This
particularbeachis famedforgreatfor celebspotting,especiallyfootballers.
You don't visitIbizawithoutsamplingsome nightlife,andthe bestforuswere Space and Pacha,
althoughPrivilege wasprettymemorabletoo.The clubscharge highentrance fees,soitisworth having
a fewdrinksbefore entering,andjusthavingsoftdrinksinside.We feltthatwe hadexperiencedalittle
bitof everything.Bybookingacheapholidayofferyoucanuse the hotel as a base and still enjoythe
authenticvillages,picturesque coves,simple bars,traditionalrestaurantsandelectricnightlifewithout
spendinghuge amountsof money.It wouldbe ashame to departfromthisenchantingislandwithout
samplingall ithasto offer.
