Florida's 10 regional planning councils serve as Economic Development Districts (EDDs) and coordinate with the state on economic development initiatives. The document provides three examples of projects the Apalachee Regional Planning Council (ARPC) collaborated on with the state: 1) Statewide hurricane evacuation studies to update surge models and evacuation zones. 2) The Franklin-98 project to restore coastal habitats along 20 acres and stabilize shorelines. 3) The Competitive Florida initiative funding economic development planning for 10 communities through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
