Autodesk 3Ds

Introduction
• Because of the growth of technology now a
days each and every thing which is going
to be produced is checked Previously.
• And due to the advancement in
technology, it is necessary to have the
ability to work with digital media.
• This Presentation is an introduction to the
basics of 3D-MAX.

Early History
• Around the release of Autodesk 3D Studio R2 (DOS)
which was the first version to feature the IPAS interface for
3rd party extensions, the Yost Group developers of the
application (Gary Yost, Tom Hudson and Dan Silva)
started thinking of a next-generation software based on
Object-Oriented Programming techniques and running
under a Windows OS. After hiring some more
developers, the team delivered two more releases of 3D
Studio DOS (R3 and R4) while actively developing the
project code-named "Jaguar".

• The very first version of Autodesk was officially announced
at Siggraph in 1995 and shipped to users in April 1996.

Rendering
• Rendering is the process of generating an
image from a model by means of computer
programs.
It would contain
1. Viewpoint
2. Geometry

information as a description of the virtual
Rendering
• It is the most time consuming procedure.
• It is basically finalizing your Project.
What is Animation
..??
Animation
• Animation is actually giving life to
something.
• Rapid Display of sequenced 2D & 3D
images.
• Persistence of Vision
Persistence of Vision
• Persistence of vision is the phenomenon
of the eye by which an afterimage is
thought to persist for approximately one
twenty-fifth of a second on the retina.
There are Basically three
types of Animation
• Traditional Animation
• Stop Motion
• Computer Animation
I. 2D animation.
II.3D animation.
Traditional Animation
• Traditional animation (also called cel
animation or hand-drawn animation) was the
process used for most animated films of the
20th century.
• Sketches and Paintings per frame are
moved such that
Stop Motion Animation
• In this Animation Photographs are taken of
a real life things and then placed on
timeline to made an animation.
Computer Animation
• Animation which is produced using
animation soft wares and graphic images
is called Computer Animation.
• Computer animation encompasses a
variety of techniques, the unifying factor
being that the animation is created
digitally on a computer.
2D Animation
• 2D animation figures are created and/or
edited on the computer using 2D bitmap
graphics or created and edited using
2D vector graphics.
3D Animation
• 3D animation is digitally modeled and
manipulated by an animator.
• Mathematical Functions.

• Various other techniques can be
applied, such as fire and water and the
use of motion capture.
Motion Capture
• In this technique censors are attached with
the body and a 3D video/movie is created
on the computer with the use of some
software.
• The best example of motion capture is
AVATAR.
