This document presents an enhanced Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique for small-scale wind energy conversion systems (WECS) utilizing artificial neural networks (ANN). The proposed ANN method is compared with the traditional perturb and observe (P&O) technique, demonstrating improved efficiency and reliability without the need for shaft speed sensing. Using MATLAB/Simulink, the study highlights the advantages of the ANN-based approach, including lower system costs and enhanced tracking performance.
