 The main aim of this project is to build a system in which the signaling time at traffic
signaling junction will be controlled according to the availability of ambulances.
 The purpose of this project is to implement an automated system for clearing the
traffic for ambulances to help the people who met with accidents or the people who
are in emergency conditions without any disturbance or delay.

 Zigbee is new wireless technology guided by IEEE 802.15.4 Personal Area Network
standard. It is primarily designed for the wide ranging controlling applications and to
replace the existing non-standard technologies.
 It currently operates in 868MHz band at a data rate of 20Kbps in Europe, 914MHz
band at 40kbps in USA, and the 2.4GHz ISM bands Worldwide at a maximum data-
rate of 250kbps.

AMBULANCE 1 SECTION:

 It employs 3 sections, one is placed at traffic signal junction and the other two
sections placed in two different Ambulances.
 The sections placed in the ambulance contains 5 switches for the operations
Emergency, Normal, out, direction 1 and direction 2.
 whenever the ambulance is yet to reach a traffic signal junction, the concerned
person need to press the switches like Emergency / Normal priority and direction 1 /
2 informing the direction and priority of ambulance reaching the signal junction.
 The other section placed at traffic signal receives the information and takes the
control action according to the priority. The control action is in the form of timing for
Green lights. If both are of high priority i.e. Emergency then the one who pressed
first will be given priority.
 The communication between the sections is done using Zigbee technology.

 The critical levels of the traffic jam have been indicated through alerting unit.
 The system successfully detected the primary appearances of emergency vehicles.

By this project we can implement an automatic traffic clearing system for
ambulances and can provide medical support to the people with in time who are in
critical conditions and can save their lives.

  • 3.  The main aim of this project is to build a system in which the signaling time at traffic signaling junction will be controlled according to the availability of ambulances.  The purpose of this project is to implement an automated system for clearing the traffic for ambulances to help the people who met with accidents or the people who are in emergency conditions without any disturbance or delay. 3
  • 4.  Zigbee is new wireless technology guided by IEEE 802.15.4 Personal Area Network standard.   • 8.  It employs 3 sections, one is placed at traffic signal junction and the other two sections placed in two different Ambulances.  The sections placed in the ambulance contains 5 switches for the operations Emergency, Normal, out, direction 1 and direction 2.  whenever the ambulance is yet to reach a traffic signal junction, the concerned person need to press the switches like Emergency / Normal priority and direction 1 / 2 informing the direction and priority of ambulance reaching the signal junction.  The other section placed at traffic signal receives the information and takes the control action according to the priority. The control action is in the form of timing for Green lights. If both are of high priority i.e. Emergency then the one who pressed first will be given priority.  The communication between the sections is done using Zigbee technology. 8

  • 13. By this project we can implement an automatic traffic clearing system for ambulances and can provide medical support to the people with in time who are in critical conditions and can save their lives.
