World Wide Yin and Yang
World Wide Yin and Yang The Chinese culture has a variety of religions and philosophies; behind
each one there is a core of theories and principles formed by its founders. The aspects of the yin yang
principal are the basis of the three major Chinese religions: Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. In
China, people are aware of the importance of believing in the yin and yang principles. The
Encyclopedia of Sex and Gender states, the Chinese view yin and yang as opposites, where yin is dark
and yang is light. They are also known to be cool and warm, moist and dry, and decay and growth.
Each complements the other and individual change through stages of their lives ( Yin ,

Without yin and yang, the Dao would not exist. They must constantly be in operation to remain in
equilibrium. If they were to be off in any way, the Dao would no longer be. All objects and beings
change, either as yin or yang in the completions of the Dao. The bond between the three philosophies
is known as the three truths. Over time, the Asian culture has integrated their many beliefs; people of
China follow Buddhism as one of the Three Truths , along with Confucianism and Taoism (Wangu
13). The majority of Chinese practice Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism at once. They believe
they are all truths and see them to be complementary opposed to contradicting. Proceeding on, Paula
Hartz, confirms these truths, [...] the threads of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have become
intertwined, each absorbing aspects of the others. As the Chinese say, the three teachings flow into one
(12). Just as all things yin and yang join as one, so do the three philosophies. Each of which
contributes something that helps create the Chinese way of life. If one were to look further, they
would see Taoists, Confucians, and Buddhists do not believe in a higher being or the immortality of
souls, instead they feel that the love of people is God (Hartz 13). All of the religions follow the same
concept of looking up towards the love of man,

The Monster or Beauty of Advertisement Essay
In life, nothing is hardly ever clear, as if there s never just one side over the other, but more commonly
a mix of both. This idea applies to something that appears in almost everyone s life, advertisements.
For every TV owner, laptop user, or shopper, it s nearly impossible to escape the grasp of
advertisements. But a current controversy that catching people s attention is the idea that
advertisements can possibly be manipulative instead of the expected persuasive advertisement. In Two
Ways a Can Get Hurt, Jean Kilbourne believes that advertisements degrade and possibly even remove
women from power. Also, in With These Words, I Can Sell You Anything, by William Lutz, the idea
that open words, and how companies can use these tactics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When looking at Kilbourne s two premises it is easy to agree with premise one, that commercials do
degrade women, but there doesn t seem to be the connection between women being degraded, to these
commercials being manipulative. In the printed ad Cigarette Women, there is a small picture with a
male and female actress, not very clear, but still noticeable. To the ignorant eye, it would be viewed as
harmless, but in the eyes of Kilbourne it speaks so much more. The position of the women in the
picture could be seen as helpless and dependent on the man who has a powerful stance. The clothes on
these two models could be seen in a similar way with the man being fully clothed in a business, while
the woman is in a short white dress. These are two factors that do show this picture to be degrading
and provocative, but it isn t manipulating.
Manipulation can be seen with having the traits of being forceful, by being tricky, or to falsify for one
owns advantage. This picture of the man and the women is not forceful by any means, is does not
threaten or pump fear in the minds of the audience. There doesn t seem to be anything falsified to be
tricky for the advertisement company s own good. So Kilbourne s idea that by degrading women these
companies are manipulative, is false. They use the factors of persuasion by inducing, or prevail, or
urge on successfully. The urge is created by the

Was Roosevelt responsible for Pearl Harbour
Was President Franklin D Roosevelt responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbour?
On December 7, 1941 the infamous bombing of Pearl Harbour by the Japanese took place, but who
was really responsible? Many historians lay the blame with President Franklin D Roosevelt (FDR),
citing his approach to the war as antagonistic and inciting a Japanese attack. This report however will
highlight that the Japanese were the real antagonises, deliberately and purposely attacking the United
States (US), United Kingdom and Holland, and Pearl Harbour was but a pawn in their war plan, thus
alleviating FDR of the historical responsibility bequeathed to him over the last 70 years. The key

They had also issued radar equipment able to detect planes up to 100 miles away, in darkness, storm

idea the war had already begun and in 11 days time America would be on the forefront of a Japanese
attack.
The notice for an attack would come via an intercepted transmission on December 6 to the Japanese
Ambassador detailing a secretive 14 part message due to be transmitted and when advised, given to
the American authorities. 13 parts were received and deciphered before midnight on December 6.
Those 13 parts contained a history from Japan s perspective on what had happened in the war thus far
and how they felt about it. Part 14, the most important part, was received by the decoders at 4am on
December 7. By 10am they had deciphered and sent it to President Roosevelt. At 10.30am an addition
to the message was received. It detailed that the message was to be handed over by the Ambassador at
1pm that afternoon. This also happened to be the time for the first attack however no location was

The Characterities Of Odysseus And Churchill
Heroes solve problems, deliver justice and give people a sense of hope when darkness occurs.
Merriam Webster defines a hero as a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent
endowed with great strength or ability (Merriam Webster). Exploring the nature and work of Odysseus
and Churchill, both have the essential qualities that qualify them as heroes. By comparing the values
of intelligence, courage, and perseverance, Odysseus, the king of Ithaca in ancient Greek mythology,
and Winston Churchill, the leader of Great Britain during the Second World War, the similar
characteristics displayed reveal their heroic nature and bravery. Courageous, noble qualities,
leadership, bravery, physical and mental strength, intelligence, and risking one s life are just a few
characteristics that describe a hero. Odysseus heroic traits are demonstrated throughout many different
situations in the Odyssey. While on the Island of the Cyclopes, Odysseus and his crew were nearly
killed by the giant one eyed Cyclops, Polyphemus. Intelligent Odysseus says My name is Nohbdy:
mother, father, and friends, everyone calls me Nohbdy (line 275 pg 380). After blinding Polyphemus,
he and his crew escaped by tying themselves under the bellies of the sheep. Odysseus used his
intelligence in a dire situation to deceive Polyphemus to become the victor. Churchill s intelligence is
shown in his speech preceding the Battle of Britain. As Great Britain face the threats of a ruthless

Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research method adopted is
exploratory research. The role of exploratory research is to clarify and define a problem at the initial
stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory
research is not intended to provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that
subsequent research will be required to provide such conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory research
is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive research, and maybe causal
research.
There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These include field studies,
action research, depth interviews, focus groups and desk research. This exploratory research utilised
one qualitative method to collect data, which will help gain an insight of the research problem before
further research is performed. The method chosen was in depth interviews which are relatively
unstructured and extensive interviews in which the interviewer asks many questions and probes for in
depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, amp; Babin; 2011). Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar,
and Babin, (2011) also suggest that there is no one perfect method which can meet all research
objectives.
In depth interviews have been conducted with four members of the public who currently live in

entrepreneur, American inventor and naturalist, Birdseye began his career as a taxidermist. Birdseye s
next field assignment, off and on from 1912 to 1915, was in Labrador in the Dominion of
Newfoundland (now part of Canada), where he became further interested in food preservation by
freezing, especially fast freezing. He was taught by the Inuit how to ice fish under very thick ice. In
40°C weather, he discovered that the fish he caught froze almost instantly, and, when thawed, tasted
fresh. He recognized immediately that the frozen seafood sold in New York was of lower quality than
the frozen fish of Labrador, and saw that applying this knowledge would

ABCDE Model Analysis
Learned optimism is the idea that a positive emotional state of mind can be cultivated, by constantly
challenging negative thoughts. A theorem based on cognitive behavioral thinking CBT , the ABCDE
model provides the basis for this discussion. The ABCDE model is essential as it provides immediate
benefits in regards to building optimism by recognising and disputing negative thoughts. This process
allows people to recognize how you can think about situations, allowing them to create new patterns
of thinking, reinforce positive thought patterns and challenge negative ones. These processes are
essential in the goal of the ABCDE model, granting the opportunity to analyse all the opportunities

The ABC model, CBT and REBT all essential theories supporting the same approach as the ABCDE
model. Evidence supports the use of these techniques for increasing optimism, Quayle (2001)
analysed the effect of the ABC technique on preadolescence, using it as a optimism intervention tool.
The students selected to undertake the program demonstrated greater optimism and less depressive
symptoms contrasted to the students who were not exposed to the ABC method. This clearly supports
the effectiveness for the ABC and the ABCDE model. Furthermore, Cunningham (2002) completed a
similar program examining the effectiveness of a universal school based prevention program to teach
optimistic thinking skills based on REBT theories. Children who participated in the program displayed
improvements in coping efficiency and lesser depressive symptoms. These finding support the
feasibility of the ABCDE model as it is based on the same

How Did The Pope Lose His Power
Power is said to be the authority to act. Throughout the years of growth and strong leadership, the
Roman Church began to suffer its grip on the faithfulness of the European people. This downfall was
inevitable due to the strict policies of the Popes that had tremendous power. During the centuries, the
papacy suffered a major decline in authority due to several events and movements. These include, the
incident between King Philip IV and Boniface III, the Great Schism and post Black Death. In the end,
I strongly agree that the Pope s power had declined in relation to all the events and movements that
have happened in the past to affect it severely. During the 10th century, there have been conflict
between the Pope and the king for powers. The most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In response to all this chaos, Philip accused the Pope of committing crimes against man, nature, and
God. Pope Boniface didn t like the accusation, so he retreated to Avignon. The Pope s movements of
going back to Avignon were a weakness shown because the people of Rome felt very fearful and
anxious with the idea of the Pope overseeing the citizens from a different city. In the perspective of the
people, they didn t believe in the Pope to make wise and crucial decisions for Rome. Things came to
an end when King Philip IV made a powerful order of denouncing the Pope. Later, King Philip
gathered an important council meeting of the Church and talked about the allegations of Pope
Boniface, which includes simony, bribery, and more. To counterattack King Philip, Boniface came up
with a papal bull to banish the king, but it wasn t enough. The last attack happens when Philip
demands an arrest on Boniface, but failed. Finally, Pope Boniface VIII died as he was viewed as a
crude leader by the people of Rome. In fact, many will say that he abused his powers when he moved
in at the Avignon. I think this was one major event that

also make decisions pertaining the patients. In doing so, the nurses will determine the measures that
should be taken to improve the patients health in case it is on the decline. This is a vital role as it is
upon this that the patients recovery is determined. Moreover; nurses are also in charge of making
communications with the patient and even their family members (Institute of Medicine (US), 2011).
This aspect greatly determines the direction of the treatment as the opinion of the family members is

The observes reacted with GSR s of significantly greater magnitude during the pre recognition
presentation of the critical words than they did before recognizing the neutral words. In addition, the
observes displayed significantly higher thresholds recognition for the critical than for the neutral
words. Hypotheses made before recognition of the charged words were of such a nature as to indicate
resistance to recognizing these words. The findings are interpreted as representing conditioned
avoidance of verbal symbols having unpleasant meanings to the observer. The stimulus word serves as
cue to deeply imbedded anxiety which is revealed in automatic reactivity as measured by the GSR.
Avoidance of further anxiety is contemporaneously aroused in the form of perceptual defense again. (

on both occasions. Correlation between two test in terms of individual performance was highly

* Marginal cost of capital Marginal cost of capital is the weighted average cost of new funds raised by
the firm. For capital budgeting and financing decisions, the marginal cost of capital is the most
important factor to be considered.
Cost of debt : Cost of debt is the interest rate that the company pays on its debt content of the capital
structure. It can be measured as before tax cost of debt or after tax cost of debt. Tax plays an important
role as the debenture interest expense is allowed as an expense for tax purposes. Debt may be issued at
par, at premium or at a discount. It may be irredeemable or redeemable.
Cost of Irredeemable debt: Irredeemable debentures are those debentures issuing by which the
company has no obligations to pay back the value of the debenture on some fixed date or time and has
the full authority to choose any time to pay back the debt until the company is a going entity and does
not default in it s interest payments. So we take into account only the sale value (SV) while evaluating
the cost of irredeemable debentures.
Cost of Redeemable debt: For redeemable debentures, the maturity date is fixed initially. The meaning
redeemable denotes that the debentures would be redeemed by the company at a fixed date or after a
specified period of notice. So, we take the average of Sale Value and Redeemable value while
calculating the cost of redeemable debentures.

Rape As A Weapon Of War
Being a part of a global community comes with many responsibilities and duties. People of the global
community have to be aware of the dangers that are present in the lives of many people all over the
globe. Human Rights issues are quite serious and violations of these rights should not be taken lightly.
In exploration of a global human rights issue, the discovery of rape as a tool in war was a gross
violation of human rights as well as overwhelmingly a gender issue. Rape used as a tool of war has
devastated and destroyed people, communities, families, and traditions. When discussing rape as
weapon of war, there are two main modern day conflicts that can not be overlooked. Rape as a weapon
of war is brought into light by the wars of Congo and Bosnia. These two conflicts brought the eyes of
the world onto the global issue of rape in war and more specifically how it is used as a tool of
ethnocide and genocide. The recent conflict in the Congo has been rooted in the 1994 Rwandan
Genocide and related violence in Burundi which saw hundreds of thousands of Hutus flee both
countries into eastern Zaïre. (First and Second) In the Rwandan genocide, Hutu power groups (called
the Interahamwe and the Impuzamugambi) led mass killings of Tutsis and pro peace Hutus, murdering
800,000 people in approximately 100 days. (Congo) In response, the Tutsi led Rwandan Patriotic
Front, or RPF, overthrew the Rwandan Hutu government.
During and after the genocide, an estimated 2 million refugees,

In recent years, environmental sustainability has risen to become an everyday concern. The impact of
the current drought and extreme weather events such as Cyclone Larry on Australian fresh produce
supplies has brought into focus the effects that climate change will have on our business. Paying
attention to sustainability is about future proofing our business.
It s about leadership.
We recognise that Woolworths can take a more prominent role in the debates around sustainability. It
is fair to say that Australian and New Zealand retailers have lagged behind companies in the United
Kingdom and Europe. So we are committed not just to contributing to the debate but to taking
specific, measurable actions to improve our performance. By virtue of our size, scale, and the
complexity of our business, Woolworths is a significant player in the Australian and New Zealand
economies. With that profile comes not only a responsibility to understand and manage our impacts,
but also a tremendous opportunity to achieve lasting and beneficial change that extends beyond our
own operations. We aim to move to a leadership position on sustainability.
It s about listening.
As our knowledge of the way in which human societies impact on the natural world develops, society

his veins. He is about to help birth one of the most striking, and compelling cities of all time. Greek
buildings are seen as flamboyant, and are looked up to. People want their cities to be just as brilliant as
the Greek s. Ancient Greek architecture inspired modern design, public structures, and buildings of

The definitive architectural style on Capitol Hill is neoclassical, inspired by the use of ancient Greek
and Roman styles in the design of great public buildings. These styles are recognized by the use of tall
columns, symmetrical shapes, triangular pediments and domed roofs. (Capitol Hill Neoclassical
Architecture) Capitol Hill is classic and bold, just like the Greek and Roman people were with their
public buildings. Another example of a Greek inspired building is the United States Capitol Building.
This building is almost an exact replica of a Greek temple. Another well known example of the
neoclassical architecture style on Capitol Hill is the U.S. Supreme Court Building. Finished and
occupied in 1935, the Supreme Court is meant to resemble a great marble temple. The architect of the
Supreme Court, Cass Gilbert of New York City, drew upon the classical Roman temple form as the
basis for the Court s new building. Reached by a great flight of broad steps, the portico of tall
Corinthian columns gives the building a monumental entrance. Lower wings flank the central temple
and help relate it to the lower scaled buildings of the nearby Capitol Hill neighborhood. (Capitol Hill

House Of The Red Fish Analysis
Do you find it hard to when looking for the similarities and differences of an object. Well you can use
the Double Bubble Map method to compare two subjects, there are three sides. The similarities, and
the different things about the subjects. In this case, the subjects were Tomi and Keet, the main
characters of House of The Red Fish . One of the many differences between Tomi and Keet is that
Tomi is determined to get his father s fishing sampan to the surface, but Keet is adamant about
keeping it at the bottom of the canal where it lays. The Double Bubble Map is convenient because it
keeps your notes organized, you can also virtually compare any two things, and lastly it s a fun
different way to taking dull notes. Firstly, this strategy is convenient because of how organized it is.
Even though there are a jumble of circles and words, the adjacent lines connecting one circle to the
next keep the space tidy and easy to find. In addition, when comparing Tomi and Keet, there are many
differences, but just as many similarities between the two. Using the Double Bubble method, you can
easily decipher the things they have in common, and the things that contrast. For example, both
characters share the trait of being stubborn, because Tomi will not give up raising his father s sampan,
the Taiyo Maru, but Keet on the other hand will do anything to keep the sampan on the ocean floor. ...

Weimar Germany
Germany was like a battered solider coming home after War World I. He expected to find his
comfortable and familiar civilian life right where he left it. Back to normality, back to stability and
safety. However, that unchanged and perfect ideal of home that he expected no longer existed. They
had foreign invaders on their soil and influencing their people. After the loss of World War I, the
German economy were imposed with financial responsibilities according the Treaty of Versailles in
1919. Germans were expected to pay reparations to the Allied powers while their territory was
significantly reduced plagued with hyperinflation (ushmm.org 2014).These reparations created a

Cooper And Garner
Cooper Garner, (2012) speak of the three R s one of them being a relationship, trusting relationships
between teachers and students prime the brain for learning, activate willingness to cooperate, and
encourage excellence p. 4. Securing relationships with students will allow the classroom to develop
and stabilize into a learning classroom . As an educator, the focus can then be on facilitating
advancement in knowledge. I currently find that the development of a respectful relationship with
clinical students and new employees allows the facilitation of a conducive learning environment. Of
course as discussed in Cooper Garner, (2012) I believe that it then leads to a growth mindset allowing
for a more impactful learning experience.
Vygotsky s theories are particularly useful in the clinical setting. For instance, for the student nurse
scaffolding allows for the provision of support until a new skill is learned. Whereas, scaffolding in the
orientation of a new nurse as described in Slavin, (2015) Chapter 2 is part of a concept called
cognitive apprenticeship and entails one on one instruction p. 40. Another concept is that of
cooperative learning this is demonstrated in the nursing simulation laboratory as students learn to
develop critical thinking skills based on each other s actions and questions during simulation
scenarios.
In Slavin Chapter 6 the levels of processing theory are of particular interest as the more meaning or
emphasis placed on details the more likely you are to store it in your long term memory. As an
educator knowing what aspects of material to emphasize would behoove the students long term
memory of the important material. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chronic Kidney Disease Analysis
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a leading cause of the critical mortality and morbidity, the Global
Burden of Diseases 2010 study reported that CKD contributes to approximately 740,000 deaths
annually, making it the 18th leading cause of death (Benigni et al. 2010, Lozano et al. 2012). CKD is a
progressive condition as either kidney damage or decreased kidney function over time (Figliuzzi et al.
2014). The main causes of CKD include glomerulonephritis, diabetic kidney disease, hypertensive
nephropathy, polycystic kidney disease and other factors, which gradually decrease the glomerular
filtration rate (Karczewski and Malkiewicz. 2015). The major outcomes of CKD include progression
to kidney failure, complication of decreased kidney function, and cardiovascular disease. Moreover,
patients with CKD are at high risk for progression to the end stage renal disease (ESRD) (Levey et al.
2003). The increasing number of patients with CKD, medicare spending on these patients exceeds $29

Subjectivism Definition Essay
Infallibility Simple subjectivism has a problem that brings about infallibility. They make moral
statements infallible, in only talking about our own attitudes. However, we are not infallible about our
moral claims in life, but we do make mistakes in our lives as well. Subjectivism claims to say that the
truth of the moral judgements is reliant on the subjective state of mind of a particular person brings
about that any given person is infallible in their moral judgment. It just seems that, as long as a
straightforward person reports one s subjective state of mind, that person is in fact, making a moral
judgment, which cannot be fabricated. (Sophilos 2012).

Is abortion morally wrong these days? Some people feel that it is, while other people feel very
strongly that it is not. People have argued about this issue for years, talking about a wide variety of

beliefs about abortion. I believe that it is fair to say that there will never be an agreement for abortion

The United States Should Use Nuclear Energy
The United States should use nuclear energy to help supplement energy demand because it s cost
effective, safer for the environment, and a more reliable source of energy than any of the other types
of fuel. Some of the topics of interest are cost effectiveness, recycling options, long term storage
options, environmental protection technologies currently being used, and a breakdown of how nuclear
energy out performs other sources of power year round. To many times people talk about the negative
side of nuclear energy, and how it can impact the environment around them, but too few talk about
how nuclear energy had improved their lives. In truth nuclear energy is responsible for creating a fair
amount of revenue in the local economy, state revenue, and federal revenue. For every dollar a nuclear
power plant spends it generates an estimated 1.04 in the community, 1.18 in the state, and a 1.87 for
the nation (Nuclear Energy Institute). With such a great revenue it would be detrimental to the nation
if nuclear energy was disbanded, and deemed a great threat to national security. Nuclear energy
generates roughly $16 million dollars annually for the state it resides in, and about $67 million dollars
annually for the nation (Nuclear Energy Institute). That revenue generated for the state is used for the
construction of new schools, improved state wide emergency response training and response times,
and a whole multitude of things that just can t compare. To add to this nuclear

Good Management Strategy
Internal and External Factors Paper
Around the globe organization rely on strong management principles to move forward and a strategy
which would lead the way forward. This strategy is mostly based on the core functions of
management. A good management strategy requires setting clear objectives which are worked towards
by utilizing best practices, implementing policies and making use of all available resources.
Success is imperative to strong management functions which include: Planning, organizing, leading
and controlling. For a business to achieve success, management must need to define clear paths for all
these functions yet ensuring all the internal and external factors influencing the business are dealt with
effectively. The decision making process also largely depends on these internal and external factors
like globalization, technology, innovation, diversity and ethics.
External factors
As Wal Mart stores begin to grow by numbers all across USA, the choice of locality also became a
point of concern for the management. Presence of Wal Mart centers in modest vicinities meant more
challenges for the organization. Such kind of external challenge can affect all four functions of
management planning. Attention to small details was the key in this situation, by doing the basics right
and making critical changes to the projects, was the success factor.
Concentrating on the four management function, it brings front a number of answers to the queries.

What Is A Synagogue
The biblical term for holiness is kodesb. The way to holiness, in other words, was for Israelites,
individually and collectively, to emulate God s attributes. The same interaction is evident in the
commandment to sanctify the Sabbath, with God and the Israelite people acting in tandem to realize
the holiness of this occasion. God shows the way and Israel follows. Synagogue is a holy place
dedicated to the glory of God. If prayers are to ascend to heaven, the synagogue must reflect sanctity
and humility. God has chosen Israel, both land and people, to be witnesses and a testing ground for
God to reveal His holiness in the world and through them the ultimate purpose of creation should be

her every single day for 20 years straight. But she managed to get through all of this because she had
hope in Telemachus to find his dad, her husband. And although Telemachus never saw his dad ever, he

Gender In Ismat Beauvoir
The French feminist Simone de Beauvoir famously declared one is not born but rather becomes a
woman . Beauvoir s thesis distinguishes the two categories sex and gender and suggests that while
sexuality may be natural and physical, gender is a social construct inculcated through cultural
conditioning. Sex is understood as something unalterable, constant, associated with the anatomy
whereas gender is the cultural meaning and the form that is ascribed to the body. Despite the fact that
gender and sex are distinct from each other unequal power play and sexual politics continues to be
important between different gender roles. Beauvoir is also of the view that the prime category of
human thought is relation between self and the other. Society ... Show more content on

Prior to Chugtai, the writers of PWA focused attention on the exploitation of poor women belonging to
the lower segment of Muslim society. Chughtai for the first time turned her attention to the zenana of

proximity this idea against the depiction of women s oppression and transgression in her short stories.
Sarat Kumar Jena observes that the zenana is the place which the women occupy in a Muslim

British India the zenana became a domestic space for protecting cultural and social interests of the

where women were also participating, the zenana becomes an area of seclusion, a gendered space. It
becomes an area of exclusion, seen as a symbol of the Muslim woman who in this politically unstable

ABSTRACT: According to the report given by World Health Organization, by 2015 almost 20 million
people will die from cardiovascular diseases (CVD). People in low and middle income countries who
suffer from CVDs and other noncommunicable diseases have less access to effective and equitable
health care services which respond to their needs. The main objective of this work is to develop a
classifier for the diagnosis of abnormal Common Carotid Arteries (CCA). This paper proposes a new
approach for the transform domain analysis of longitudinal B mode ultrasound CCA images using
Multiwavelets. Analysis is done using HM and GHM multiwavelets at various levels of
decomposition. Multiwavelet preserves high frequency information in image and provides good
energy compaction efficiency. Energy values of the coefficients of approximation, horizontal, vertical
and diagonal details are calculated and plotted for different levels. Plots of energy values show high
correlation with the abnormalities of CCA and offer the possibility of improved diagnosis of CVD. It
is clear that the energy values can be used as an index of individual

Monoamine Oxidase A Case Study
The first factor in the connection between the Monoamine Oxidase A (MAOA) gene and antisocial
behaviors is increased weapon use. Low MAOA (L MAOA or MAOA L) activity alleles have been
linked to an increased probability of weapon use among male gang members as well as an increased
probability of shooting and stabbing behaviors among males (Beaver, Barnes, Boutwell, 2014; Beaver
et al., 2009). Each of these associations was investigated independently of childhood maltreatment,
something many studies have not been able to examine in the past (Beaver et al., 2012). In one study,
researchers grouped self reported male gang members into two groups: a L MAOA activity group and
a high MAOA (H MAOA or MAOA H) activity group. In this study, the ... Show more content on

The probability of subjects with the low activity allele shooting or stabbing someone at any time in
their lives was 50 percent whereas the probability of subjects with the high activity allele shooting or
stabbing someone in their lifetimes was only 7 percent. There was also a statistically significant
probability of carriers of the L MAOA allele shooting or stabbing someone multiple times within their
lifetime (Beaver et al., 2009). The second factor is an association between the MAOA gene and human
aggression. Aggression can be defined as an increased proneness to aggressive explosions, especially
when faced with anger, fear, and frustration. Aggression can also include violent, not premeditated,
acts such as rape, assault, arson, murder, or attempted murder (Buckholtz Meyer Lindenberg, 2008).
The presence of the MAOA L allele in males may increase their likelihood to employ in aggressive
actions (Stetler et al., 2014). Brunner s study determined an association between a genetic mutation
and antisocial aggression/behavior within a large sample of Dutch children. Brunner chose these
particular male children based off of their reputations as extremely aggressive. Brunner s study
discovered a common mutation within the MAOA genes of all subjects. This particular mutation
produces an untimely stop codon in the MAOA gene (Buckholtz Meyer Lindenberg, 2008). In another
study, Stetler et al. (2014)

Agent Wind Erosion Research Paper
The agent of erosion known as Agent wind is very dangerous and affects us all in many different ways
through many different means. Agent wind picks up silt, sand, dust, and other types of small particles

sediments and uses the force of wind to knock it repeatedly against the rock. It creates weird multiple
holes or little scratches along the rocks surfaces. Deflation is where agent wind simply picks up
sediments like the ones listed earlier. Agent wind then collectively moves them and then proceeds to
drop them off at another location. This process is known as deposition. As far as what part of the

Models can get a bunch of things worked on to make them appear to be perfect. They can get surgeries
that can fix any flaws that they have. If they hate something about themselves they can pay someone
to fix their flaws. They can get their body parts fixed and they can change anything and they can
improve their perspective of themselves. Magazines can also photoshop and edit pictures to make
people look better than they actually look. They can change what their hair looks like, what their eyes
look like, and their teeth too. They can change heir body shape to make their body figure look better.
Women do not realize that people can change a picture pretty fast and make them look like someone
different. They can edit their photos but they cant always change what their make up and hair color
and everything else looks like because all of the good apps cost a lot of money and require brains and
style to be able to function the app. Women want to be compared to women in a model status and one
day wish they could look like them but if someone as myself could learn how to photoshop pictures
then I would show women that I could change them as fast as other people can change those models
that they look up too. Women body image has horrible out looks on women. It gives them insecurities
and believes that they need to be someone else that they clearly are not but they think they needed to

Domino s Pizza Tracker Case Study Summary
Domino s Sizzles with Pizza Tracker
Management Information Systems 625
Jacob M. Shannon
Walsh University
Case Study #1 There has been a definite transition in the pizza delivery business, with massive pizza
chains vying for the most innovate way to create and sell their product. Even though this case may be
a few years dated, one can still observe these innovations occurring in the present. Through intricate
and efficient information systems, these innovations can be a viable and a creative way to get the
customers what they want; however, in a different more unique fashion that can appeal to a wide and
young demographic. Where one business lacks in quality compared to the other chains, the business
can make up for it with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another information system utilized by Domino s is the Enterprise System, which serves to integrate
several different parts of the company s processes into a single software system (Laudon amp;
Laudon, 2012). Therefore, when a customer places the order the billing information is transacted,
along with personal information that serves as market research for the company. The input of an email
address into the system allows for follow up emails contributing to the marketing side of the business.
Also, when the customer builds the pizza they desire, it breaks down the production process for the
employees, all in a single detailed transaction. This is undoubtedly an efficient process for Domino s,
allowing different parts of the company to enter a ubiquitous state. These systems allow for an
improved business process for Domino s, allowing for a ubiquitous business process instead of each
section of the company having to work separately to complete the same business processes.
Comparatively to a company like Amazon, the system almost works in the same fashion for both
companies, although the companies are in different industries. Amazon, a massive internet wholesaler,
arguably innovated this type of system on a consumer level (enterprise). When placing an order
through Amazon, all of your billing and personal information is saved for current and future
purchases. In a marketing perspective, Amazon records everything that you

SCENE I. Elsinore. A platform before the castle. FRANCISCO at his post. Enter to him BERNARDO
BERNARDO Who s there? FRANCISCO Nay, answer me: stand, and unfold yourself. BERNARDO
Long live the king! FRANCISCO Bernardo? BERNARDO He. FRANCISCO You come most
carefully upon your hour. BERNARDO Tis now struck twelve; get thee to bed, Francisco.
FRANCISCO For this relief much thanks: tis bitter cold, And I am sick at heart. BERNARDO Have
you had quiet guard? FRANCISCO Not a mouse stirring. BERNARDO Well, good night. If you do

BERNARDO Looks it not like the king? mark it, Horatio. HORATIO Most like: it harrows me with
fear and wonder. BERNARDO It would be spoke to. MARCELLUS Question it, Horatio. HORATIO
What art thou that usurp st this time of night, Together with that fair and warlike form In which the
majesty of buried Denmark Did sometimes march? by heaven I charge thee, speak! MARCELLUS It
is offended. BERNARDO See, it stalks away! HORATIO Stay! speak, speak! I charge thee, speak!
Exit Ghost MARCELLUS Tis gone, and will not answer. BERNARDO How now, Horatio! you
tremble and look pale: Is not this something more than fantasy? What think you on t? HORATIO
Before my God, I might not this believe Without the sensible and true avouch Of mine own eyes.
MARCELLUS Is it not like the king? HORATIO As thou art to thyself: Such was the very armour he
had on When he the ambitious Norway combated; So frown d he once, when, in an angry parle, He
smote the sledded Polacks on the ice. Tis strange. MARCELLUS Thus twice before, and jump at this
dead hour, With martial stalk hath he gone by our watch. HORATIO In what particular thought to
work I know not; But in the gross and scope of my opinion, This bodes some strange eruption to our
state. MARCELLUS Good now, sit down, and tell me, he that knows, Why this same strict and most
observant watch So nightly toils the subject of the land, And why such daily cast of brazen cannon,
And foreign mart for implements of war;

The Fast Paced Growth Of Nova Chemicals
COMPANY BACKGROUND
NOVA Chemicals is a specialty chemicals manufacturing company located in Southern Ontario, on
the St. Clair River west of Toronto. NOVA Chemicals specialises in the production of polyethylene
(PE), high density and linear low density polyethylene. [1] The production process involves the
transportation of the liquid ethylene feedstock, via pipeline, to the plant site followed by the
production of various PE resins (pellet form). These PE pellets are then sold to consumers for use in
common applications such as bottles for milk and other non carbonated drinks, drums, fuel tanks for
automobiles, toys and household goods. Due to the fact that high density polyethylene (HDPE) has
good chemical resistance, it is often used for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Appendix A demonstrates a table of stakeholder engagement, as well as topics and concerns, and how
the company engages with these. The NOVA chem s commitment to stakeholders, as well as

Marcez Mejias
Lament for Ignacio Sanchez Mejias by poet Lorca is an elegy for the dead bullfighter told through the
eyes of the poet himself. Lorca s poem demonstrates how the narrator of the poem guides what the
reader knows and does not know through the use of a first person point of view. The images and
emotions experienced through narrator allows one to compare Lorca to a movie director or an editor.
Lorca uses a first person point of view in order to demonstrate the lament for the dead as they
deprived of the achievements that could have been theirs. Lorca uses a first person point of view
throughout the poem to reveal the narrator s initial feelings of depression towards the untimely death
of his close friend Ignacio Sanchez Mejias. In the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, as the poem continues, Lorca shows how he will gradually learn to accept death as it is an
inevitable process of life. However, the narrator fails to explain why these two are such close friends.
This forces the reader to create his or her observations on why they are close. One assumption is that
Lorca is exploring his homosexuality under the conservative Spanish society.
Lorca s powerful emotions and images throughout his poem enabling his readers to also experience
what he experienced throughout the use of first person. One can make a strong argument that Lorca
can be compared to a movie director or editor. Just like how a movie director chooses what scenes to
shoot and how they are shot, Lorca chooses how he wants to portray the images and emotions
throughout the poem.
Throughout the third section of the poem Lorca laments on how Mejias losses out further
achievements because of his early death. Lorca writes, All is finished. What is happening? Lorca asks
what happens after death, a common theme throughout his early poems. Here Lorca laments for
humanity as death shuts humans out of fulfillment that could have been theirs if they were still

World Wide Yin and Yang World Wide Yin and Yang The Chinese culture has a variety of religions and philosophies; behind each one there is a core of theories and principles formed by its founders. The aspects of the yin yang principal are the basis of the three major Chinese religions: Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. In China, people are aware of the importance of believing in the yin and yang principles. The Encyclopedia of Sex and Gender states, the Chinese view yin and yang as opposites, where yin is dark and yang is light. They are also known to be cool and warm, moist and dry, and decay and growth. Without yin and yang, the Dao would not exist. They must constantly be in operation to remain in equilibrium. If they were to be off in any way, the Dao would no longer be. All objects and beings change, either as yin or yang in the completions of the Dao. The bond between the three philosophies is known as the three truths. Over time, the Asian culture has integrated their many beliefs; people of China follow Buddhism as one of the Three Truths , along with Confucianism and Taoism (Wangu 13). The majority of Chinese practice Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism at once. They believe they are all truths and see them to be complementary opposed to contradicting. Proceeding on, Paula Hartz, confirms these truths, [...] the threads of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism have become intertwined, each absorbing aspects of the others. As the Chinese say, the three teachings flow into one (12). Just as all things yin and yang join as one, so do the three philosophies. Each of which contributes something that helps create the Chinese way of life. If one were to look further, they would see Taoists, Confucians, and Buddhists do not believe in a higher being or the immortality of souls, instead they feel that the love of people is God (Hartz 13). • 4. The Monster or Beauty of Advertisement Essay In life, nothing is hardly ever clear, as if there s never just one side over the other, but more commonly a mix of both. This idea applies to something that appears in almost everyone s life, advertisements. For every TV owner, laptop user, or shopper, it s nearly impossible to escape the grasp of advertisements. But a current controversy that catching people s attention is the idea that advertisements can possibly be manipulative instead of the expected persuasive advertisement. In Two Ways a Can Get Hurt, Jean Kilbourne believes that advertisements degrade and possibly even remove women from power. Also, in With These Words, I Can Sell You Anything, by William Lutz, the idea that open words, and how companies can use these tactics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When looking at Kilbourne s two premises it is easy to agree with premise one, that commercials do degrade women, but there doesn t seem to be the connection between women being degraded, to these commercials being manipulative. In the printed ad Cigarette Women, there is a small picture with a male and female actress, not very clear, but still noticeable. To the ignorant eye, it would be viewed as harmless, but in the eyes of Kilbourne it speaks so much more. The position of the women in the picture could be seen as helpless and dependent on the man who has a powerful stance. The clothes on these two models could be seen in a similar way with the man being fully clothed in a business, while the woman is in a short white dress. These are two factors that do show this picture to be degrading and provocative, but it isn t manipulating. Manipulation can be seen with having the traits of being forceful, by being tricky, or to falsify for one owns advantage. This picture of the man and the women is not forceful by any means, is does not threaten or pump fear in the minds of the audience. There doesn t seem to be anything falsified to be tricky for the advertisement company s own good. So Kilbourne s idea that by degrading women these companies are manipulative, is false. They use the factors of persuasion by inducing, or prevail, or urge on successfully. The urge is created by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On December 7, 1941 the infamous bombing of Pearl Harbour by the Japanese took place, but who was really responsible? Many historians lay the blame with President Franklin D Roosevelt (FDR), citing his approach to the war as antagonistic and inciting a Japanese attack. This report however will highlight that the Japanese were the real antagonises, deliberately and purposely attacking the United States (US), United Kingdom and Holland, and Pearl Harbour was but a pawn in their war plan, thus alleviating FDR of the historical responsibility bequeathed to him over the last 70 years. Merriam Webster defines a hero as a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability (Merriam Webster). Exploring the nature and work of Odysseus and Churchill, both have the essential qualities that qualify them as heroes. By comparing the values of intelligence, courage, and perseverance, Odysseus, the king of Ithaca in ancient Greek mythology, and Winston Churchill, the leader of Great Britain during the Second World War, the similar characteristics displayed reveal their heroic nature and bravery. Courageous, noble qualities, leadership, bravery, physical and mental strength, intelligence, and risking one s life are just a few characteristics that describe a hero. Odysseus heroic traits are demonstrated throughout many different situations in the Odyssey. While on the Island of the Cyclopes, Odysseus and his crew were nearly killed by the giant one eyed Cyclops, Polyphemus. Given that the research problem in this report is ambiguous, the basic research method adopted is exploratory research. The role of exploratory research is to clarify and define a problem at the initial stage of the research. Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar and Babin (2011), suggest that exploratory research is not intended to provide conclusive evidence and is conducted with the expectation that subsequent research will be required to provide such conclusive evidence. Thus, exploratory research is the foundation of the research process which will lead to descriptive research, and maybe causal research. There are many exploratory methods that can be used to conduct research. These include field studies, action research, depth interviews, focus groups and desk research. This exploratory research utilised one qualitative method to collect data, which will help gain an insight of the research problem before further research is performed. The method chosen was in depth interviews which are relatively unstructured and extensive interviews in which the interviewer asks many questions and probes for in depth answers (Zikmund, Ward, Lowe, Winzar, amp; Babin; 2011). The definitive architectural style on Capitol Hill is neoclassical, inspired by the use of ancient Greek and Roman styles in the design of great public buildings. These styles are recognized by the use of tall columns, symmetrical shapes, triangular pediments and domed roofs. (Capitol Hill Neoclassical Architecture) Capitol Hill is classic and bold, just like the Greek and Roman people were with their public buildings. Another example of a Greek inspired building is the United States Capitol Building. This building is almost an exact replica of a Greek temple. Another well known example of the neoclassical architecture style on Capitol Hill is the U.S. Supreme Court Building. Finished and occupied in 1935, the Supreme Court is meant to resemble a great marble temple. The architect of the Supreme Court, Cass Gilbert of New York City, drew upon the classical Roman temple form as the basis for the Court s new building. Reached by a great flight of broad steps, the portico of tall Corinthian columns gives the building a monumental entrance. Lower wings flank the central temple and help relate it to the lower scaled buildings of the nearby Capitol Hill neighborhood. (Capitol Hill Neoclassical Architecture) Romans looked ... Well you can use the Double Bubble Map method to compare two subjects, there are three sides. The similarities, and the different things about the subjects. In this case, the subjects were Tomi and Keet, the main characters of House of The Red Fish . One of the many differences between Tomi and Keet is that Tomi is determined to get his father s fishing sampan to the surface, but Keet is adamant about keeping it at the bottom of the canal where it lays. The Double Bubble Map is convenient because it keeps your notes organized, you can also virtually compare any two things, and lastly it s a fun different way to taking dull notes. Firstly, this strategy is convenient because of how organized it is. Even though there are a jumble of circles and words, the adjacent lines connecting one circle to the next keep the space tidy and easy to find. In addition, when comparing Tomi and Keet, there are many differences, but just as many similarities between the two. Using the Double Bubble method, you can easily decipher the things they have in common, and the things that contrast. For example, both characters share the trait of being stubborn, because Tomi will not give up raising his father s sampan, the Taiyo Maru, but Keet on the other hand will do anything to keep the sampan on the ocean floor. ... Cooper And Garner Cooper Garner, (2012) speak of the three R s one of them being a relationship, trusting relationships between teachers and students prime the brain for learning, activate willingness to cooperate, and encourage excellence p. 4. Securing relationships with students will allow the classroom to develop and stabilize into a learning classroom . As an educator, the focus can then be on facilitating advancement in knowledge. I currently find that the development of a respectful relationship with clinical students and new employees allows the facilitation of a conducive learning environment. Of course as discussed in Cooper Garner, (2012) I believe that it then leads to a growth mindset allowing for a more impactful learning experience. Vygotsky s theories are particularly useful in the clinical setting. For instance, for the student nurse scaffolding allows for the provision of support until a new skill is learned. Whereas, scaffolding in the orientation of a new nurse as described in Slavin, (2015) Chapter 2 is part of a concept called cognitive apprenticeship and entails one on one instruction p. 40. Another concept is that of cooperative learning this is demonstrated in the nursing simulation laboratory as students learn to develop critical thinking skills based on each other s actions and questions during simulation scenarios. In Slavin Chapter 6 the levels of processing theory are of particular interest as the more meaning or emphasis placed on details the more likely you are to store it in your long term memory. To many times people talk about the negative side of nuclear energy, and how it can impact the environment around them, but too few talk about how nuclear energy had improved their lives. In truth nuclear energy is responsible for creating a fair amount of revenue in the local economy, state revenue, and federal revenue. For every dollar a nuclear power plant spends it generates an estimated 1.04 in the community, 1.18 in the state, and a 1.87 for the nation (Nuclear Energy Institute). With such a great revenue it would be detrimental to the nation if nuclear energy was disbanded, and deemed a great threat to national security. This paper proposes a new approach for the transform domain analysis of longitudinal B mode ultrasound CCA images using Multiwavelets. Analysis is done using HM and GHM multiwavelets at various levels of decomposition. Multiwavelet preserves high frequency information in image and provides good energy compaction efficiency. Energy values of the coefficients of approximation, horizontal, vertical and diagonal details are calculated and plotted for different levels. Plots of energy values show high correlation with the abnormalities of CCA and offer the possibility of improved diagnosis of CVD. Each of these associations was investigated independently of childhood maltreatment, something many studies have not been able to examine in the past (Beaver et al., 2012). The second factor is an association between the MAOA gene and human aggression. Aggression can be defined as an increased proneness to aggressive explosions, especially when faced with anger, fear, and frustration. Aggression can also include violent, not premeditated, acts such as rape, assault, arson, murder, or attempted murder (Buckholtz Meyer Lindenberg, 2008).
