1) Paul establishes the validity of his apostleship and then enumerates the privileges that come with being an apostle, such as the right to financial support. 2) However, Paul chooses not to use all of his privileges in order to cause no hindrance to the gospel and preserve his reward in heaven. 3) Paul encourages Christians to imitate him as he imitates Christ by serving others without charge and not using all of his rights.
