Speaker Bio: Professor Stefan Wolfgang Pickl was born in Darmstadt, Germany on 29th September, 1 He studied mathematics, electrical engineering and philosophy at the Technical University of Darms (Diploma in 1993; ERASMUS-scholarship at the EPF Lausanne); doctor’s degree at the TU Darmstadt followed by his habilitation at the University of Cologne in 2005. Since July 2005 Dr. Pickl holds a cha Operations Research at the UBw Munich. In 2000 Dr. Pickl received the phd-thesis award by the Germ Society for Operations Research; followed by international “best-paper awards” in the years 2003, 20 2007 and 2015. During the years 2004 to 2024 Dr. Pickl was invited for assignments as visiting- profes the States, Asia and Europe such as with the Center for Homeland Defense and Security, CHDS. As a scientist Dr. Pickl was a “Visiting Scientist” in Los Alamos National Labs, in the SANDIA Laboratory, at as well as at the Santa Fe Institute for complex systems. Dr. Pickl was one of the first mathematicians developed a model for the simulation and optimization of the CO2 -conflict. Respectively Mr Pickl wa member of the Excellence-Cluster “Energy” at the RWTH Aachen. He released more than 350 public Furthermore he is Honorary Professor at University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. Since 2019, Dr. P Vice-President of the German Committee for Desaster Reduction DKKV. He is member of the counse board of the BBK in Germany. Since 2022 he is PI of the Topic Leadership Circle TLC in cooperation w Peter Drucker Forum, in 2026 he was awarded as senior fellow of the Peter Drucker Forum. In 2023 h nominated as honorary member of the German Society for Operations Research. Since 2024 he is me of the German Academy of Technology acatech.
