Red Hat Storage is scale-out network attached storage (NAS) software that is designed to provide linear scaling of both performance and capacity without sacrificing resiliency. It uses a unique architecture based on the open source GlusterFS file system that eliminates the need for centralized metadata and allows data and load to be distributed across commodity storage resources. This enables enterprises to start with a few servers and terabytes of storage and non-disruptively expand on demand to multiple servers and petabytes of storage.
