A Call for Help - Useful Prayer Related Information

  1. 1. “...pray for and practice this essential lifestyle of prayer” “A Call for Help from Macedonia” (Useful Prayer related Information for Everyone.)
  2. 2. No matter where we live there is a call for our help from Macedonia...Others. Responding to the call for help from Macedonia requires the following actions.
  3. 3. No matter where we live there is a call for our help from Macedonia...Others. Responding to the call for help from Macedonia requires the following actions. Please pray for and practice this essential lifestyle of prayer as outlined with details below.
  4. 4. 1. We must have a consistent and intimate prayer life. "...assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them" (Acts 16:10). The words "assuredly gathering" reflect saints that have a deep prayer life and intimacy with Jesus. Prayer makes us positive and confident about our mission. Prayer causes us to be sensitive to the need of others and give us Biblical solutions for those who are trapped in a dilemma that seems to be helpless.
  5. 5. 2. We need a prayer life that will take us "into.“ "...Come over into Macedonia, and help us" (Acts 16:9). We need to be into God first to minister to Him which will infuse us with His thoughts and equips us to go into Macedonia. "Into" means feeling their pain, burden and identifying with their dilemma. It is a willingness to get involved and allow God to minister through us to meet the need no matter what it is or how long it will take.
  6. 6. "For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; ..." (Jeremiah 8:21), "And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling" (I Corinthians 2:3). "To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some" (I Corinthians 9:22).
  7. 7. 3. We must have a prayer life where we can't get trapped by the dilemma. "And on the Sabbath we went out of the city..." (Acts 16:13). Prayer takes us away from the dilemma into the presence of God where we can see the solutions and avoid being trapped by the dilemma.
  8. 8. Once we pray above the dilemma the Holy Ghost River will start to flow in our souls and spirits that will invoke miracles immediately. "...by a river side ..." (Acts 16:13). "He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water" (John 7:38). These rivers of living water experience are not relegated to our Born Again experience only but it can be ignited by prayer.
  9. 9. We must find a place at which the rivers will flow again. It must flow out of us into those who are in need. Water at times in the Bible is symbolic of people. Therefore, "by a river side" means our prayers have the ability to flow downstream and upstream to reach the hurting and the lost.
  10. 10. Prayer is the ONLY power on earth that can flow downstream and upstream and touch any race, creed or nationality. Prayer have the ability to start something new, in this case it started the Church at Philippi.
  11. 11. 4. We must have a place of prayer where we meet Jesus every day. "...where prayer was wont (accustomed) to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither" (Acts 16:13). By meeting God first and early everyday prepares us to meet anyone or anything else later.
  12. 12. Prayer is not something we do but it is who we are and a way of life. Prayer should be as natural as breathing for the Christian and as nutrients are needed by the body to live. There must be a place of prayer in our homes where we can meet Jesus daily.
  13. 13. This place of prayer will be transferred into our spirits and whether we are travelling or on vacation we can find our way into His presence. Our prayer life must become a ladder and not stair steps (stationary). A ladder is portable which means our prayers can reach Heaven anywhere on the earth. A ladder allows angels to ascend and descend without tripping.
  14. 14. "And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it" (Genesis 28:12). "And he came out, and went, as he was wont (accustomed), to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him; And when he was at the place, he said unto them,
  15. 15. Pray that ye enter not into temptation" (Luke 22:39-40). We cannot pray until we are first at that place. Please notice these words "...where prayer was wont to be made..." (Acts 16:13). Prayer is not given or borrowed but created and maintained everyday by those who love Jesus. "...sat down" (Acts 16:13) prayer settles us down so that we can hear from Jesus and know how to apply the correct Biblical solutions.
