Sign up in the Children’s Department. Read to Me for children not yet reading on their own (birth to age 8). Read together and complete activities. Earn weekly prizes and enjoy the end of summer party “Family Music Extravanganza.” (Tickets required). Summer Reading Challenge for independent readers ages 5–12. Register books (online!) from 6/2–8/9 to earn weekly prizes and a chance to win special items (weekly prizes start 6/23). End of Summer Reading Ice Cream Party with Mayor Harkins and Casey Carle’s Bubble–Mania. (RSVP to Mayor Harkins’ office required for event and to qualify as a Harkins Hero with t-shirt and certificate). Summer Storytimes June 24–August 8. Combine science and jewelry- making as you bead a name necklace using this computer coding language. “Is There Water on Zork?”with the Kellogg Environmental Center Friday, June 27 at 2:30 pm.
