Looking back at yourpreliminary task, what doyou feel you have learnt inthe progression from it tofull product?
PhotographyMy prelim task image and my finalimage for my finished front cover arevery different, for one the quality of myfinal image is much better than myprelim as i took it on a camera with ahigher megapixel. Also the lighting onmy prelim is really bad as there is nofocus on the model and it’s shadowedbehind. The image quality for my finalproduct is better as the lighting that isshone on the models creates a brighterpicture and the image looks sharper. The area of space that is provided formastheads and articles has notchanged, however this is an obviousconvention for a magazine. The simpler background in my finalproduct made it easier for me to putwords onto and so it was still clear tosee.
LayoutI think the layout of both of mymagazines are very different, but bothstrong in their separate ways. Myprelim task has a very conventionaloutline with a masthead, articles andheadings. With my final product i have a simpleand original product with a good layoutthat allows the image to still be seen. Ithink in a way i’m disappointed thoughas my final product is lacking structureand purpose. When i was creating my prelim i waslooking a lot at the pull quotes andarticles on the side, however i wasmore focused of the masthead andimage behind it and how it wouldappeal to my audience.
Consistency of the coloursI think my consistency of colours has stayed the same as through my prelim and final products, i kept the colour schemeall throughout the pages i did to keep the flow of the magazine going. On my prelim it focuses on the school logo althoughthe colours are harsh and sharp to look at, but when looking at my final product it is faded but coloured and it’s mucheasier on the eyes. When looking at my final product the colours light blue and sandy yellow is continued through the magazine to highlightthe important parts of the magazine. Black and white is used as well as the shadow on the logo and also on the contentspage and double page spread it’s used as two of the main colours as the background and writing which goes over it easilyand bold.
