What should you know about
the terminals at Delhi Airport?
The Delhi Airport is the primary airport serving the national capital,
New Delhi. It is one of the busiest airports that stretches over an area
of more than five acres of land. Sustainable development is an integral
part of DIAL’s business strategy as it is committed to operating its
workings in an environment-friendly manner. The airport has three
terminals where the air passengers depart or arrive upon landing.
Those who would like to know more about these terminals and the
facilities available here are recommended to read this blog. Have a
glance!
How do Delhi airport terminals serve the flyers?
Terminal One:
Terminal one is Delhi domestic airport terminal that is primarily served by
low-cost carriers. This part of the runway is quite old and also used to be a
part of Palam airport. The terminal features several buildings for handling
both arriving and departing passengers. The T1C handles people who are
flying in and offers transportation. On the other hand, the T1D serves
travellers flying out and provides access to the check-in area, security
checkpoints, and gates. Passengers who need to go to T1 from T3 need not
worry as the terminals are connected by a shuttle bus run by DIAL. The
terminal is developed to ensure passengers’ comfort and offers services like
baggage wrap, visitor entry, pet and fly, telecommunication services, gifts
and souvenir counters, duty-free, and porter service.
Terminal Two:
This terminal entertains low-cost and domestic flights only. The
building has been recently refurbished and offers high-end facilities.
The terminal stays quite busy and can handle up to 12 million
passengers every year. It features an arrival and departure area where
the passengers are offered transportation and other services (like
restaurants, duty-free tours, pet N fly, telecommunication services,
porter service, and visitor entry) to enhance their overall experience.
Terminal Three:
The newest terminal at Delhi airport, terminal three, was opened in 2010. It is one
of the biggest terminals in the world and is constructed to handle 40 million
passengers in one year. All international flights and some domestic flights are
operated from here. The terminal consists of five levels split into international and
domestic areas. The first one is the ground level that offers access to the arrivals
area, then there is the first level that features the departures area, next is the
second level housing airport lounges and food court, then comes the fourth level
with airport lounges, and the last is the fifth level that has a transit level with
international and domestic wings.
The airport runs a free bus shuttle for transferring passengers between terminals. It
arrives at the bus terminal every 20 minutes.
So, this is all you need to know about terminals one, two, and three situated at the
Delhi Airport.
Thank You
