As I Understand It, is the fourth book in The Truth of Alissa Lynne books.
This book‟s words are as Sister Alissa Lynne Griffith understands some of
our walk in the Lord.
She is still speaking the truth as it is understood by her, as she looks to give
another way to view some of the things that are important in our lives, or
maybe a refresher for our walk in the Lord.
Come on in and see what the Lord is saying via Sister Alissa Lynne Griffith

  5. 5. Chapter One - As I Begin As I begin another book, the thoughts crossed my mind about what this book should be about. There is so much inside of me that is waiting to come out and yet not sure which should come first, the growth or the longing for more growth. So what Idecided to do is start with the praise and I will allow the rest to follow, forthe direction of the Lord is always what we want in our lives in every aspectof our life. It is truly the blessings of the Lord that we are always striving forand yes, we shall discuss that later too.Let me start with my praise as I have to start with praise in the Lord. God istruly blessing me in the manner of growth. In writing the three previousbooks, the Lord has shown me sides of myself that I did not know existed. Ihave to give Him all honor and glory for my very life. In case you have notread The Truth of Alissa Lynne I, which is my life story and funny as it mayseem, it is still a shorten version of my life story. Praise God for the growthin Him.My Life Testimony:Praise the Lord, God is truly awesome and wonderful. He has blessed me soand I would like to share what He has done for me in my life. For the Lordis with us always, even when we do not know Him, He knows us.At the age of six months old, I was sick with the Asian flu, at the timethere was a strain going around that was ending the lives of infants andsenior citizens. My mother took me to the doctors the doctor pretty muchsaid to give the medication for that is all they could do. My mom took me 5|Page
  6. 6. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Ithome, and said she watched life leave me, I was limp and was shallowbreathing. She told me that she rubbed me with rubbing alcohol and prayedover me. She said she placed her child on the altar of God and committedmy life to Him. An hour later I was bouncing up and down on her leg andshowed no signs of having any illness. At the age of 8 years old, I was lying in my bed and felt some one shakeme. I woke up to a room full of smoke and no one was there. I told mymom, and as we all left the house, my bedroom blew up. The room wasdestroyed but I was not there! To this day, I know I was touched by God!AMEN!At the age of 17 years old, colon cancer attacked me. The Lord blessedme to overcome this disease. At the age of 25 years old, thyroid cancer came at me and the Lordblessed me to overcome that illness. At the age of 33 years old, I had cancer in my uterus, and yet again Godblessed me to still be here.At the age of 38 years old, I was diagnosed with Lupus, and thoughfrom time to time, I have flare ups, my organs have not been damaged, andI know that I am healed in the name of Jesus. At the age of 42 years old, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and haveovercome with doctors direction and medication. From the age of 6 years old until I was 17 years old, I was molestedby my step father and grew up in fear that my family would perish if I toldanyone. My relationship with my mother were gravely strained and when I 6|Page
  7. 7. was able to move out, I did! I started a life of hanging out, drinking, sleeping around, experimenting with drugs and really not caring about mylife.I got married twice to two men who were abusive to me in more ways thanone. I was at the lowest point ever in my life that I had ever been for I was awalking zombie. I wanted to die and after years of trying to kill myself andspending time with therapists and hospitals, nothing was working. My 2nd husband of 8 years left me for another woman leaving me with myson to parent alone. I was devastated and hurting beyond belief. I knew Ihad to go to church and it was what I needed. I walked in the doors and feltbetter. I joined the church and was baptized on July 24, 2005. The enemyattacked me as I was not reading the word of God as I should and surelywas not praying as I should. I was half way doing what I had to do.The day my life was changed when I decided I was going to take mattersinto my own hands; I jumped in my van and banged on the door of myestranged husband with the thought of killing him, his girlfriend andmyself. As I was banging on the door, begging them to come out, a voicescreamed in my head - He said, "Go Home!"I felt so different and for one moment there was peace that came over me. Igot in my van and I have no idea how I got home. I was crying and couldnot stop. I called my aunt, and poured it out in tears, talking in words thatwere not detectable to anyone, as the tears flowed beyond comprehensionas the words were coming out of my mouth. When I was finally able to talk and got off the phone, I cried it all out to theLord and when I was done crying, I looked in the mirror and saw what God 7|Page
  8. 8. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itsaw. I saw that I had to see me as He saw me. I knew it was the beginning ofa new life in Jesus and for the first time in my life, after hearing Him speakto me to love Him with all my heart and trust in Him,I started talking to the Lord more, I started hearing His words to me and Iwas blessed to be filled with His Holy Spirit in speaking in tongues onMarch 2, 2007. My life has not been the same since!I am a blessed woman and sometimes I wonder why He loves me so, yetyou know what, He loves me so much that He blesses me every day withnew grace and mercy! He sent a man of God into my life who has loved me through the pains andhurt of my past life. Jesus showed me real love in my husband. He hasshown me that He can be all that we need and when we are in Him we canlive life abundantly. He has set me on a new path and a new walk in Him. Ihave never been this happy in my life. Sure things happen and pains comebut the Lord heals me in all that I go through as long as I go to the Lord andI give it all to Jesus. He has laid a path before me that is awesome because the path is in Him.He has healed me in all aspects of life. I have been healed in my body, mymind, and my very spirit and soul! God is just so awesome, just spendingtime with the Lord can change your life for all eternity. I am standing in Hisword and I know that He will keep me!May you continue to stand in the Lord and know that He can deliver youfrom any situation that you find yourself in. He will bring you out of themess that the world has dealt you and even the mess that we ourselvescreate! God is awesome and I am blessed in Him. 8|Page
  9. 9. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and todestroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have itmore abundantly.Praise the Lord for what the enemy meant to destroy, the Lord has meantfor His glory. Often times we look at Romans 8:28 "And we know that allthings work together for good to them that love God, to them who are thecalled according to His purpose", and do not understand that even the badthings that are allowed to happen to us work for our good. In all that I wentthrough in my life, it was a testimony not just to the world but to me abouthow awesome the Lord is. My life strengthened my walk in Him, my faith inHim. For He has brought me through so much before I knew Him, whyshould I doubt that He would bring me through things now in my life, nowthat I not only know Him but live for Him. It is truly the Lord who blessesus in all that we do.I praise the Lord for all that He has done in my life, all that He is doing inmy life and all that is still to come in my life. If it had not been for His graceand mercy, I would be lost for all eternity. As I think of the things that God has promised us as His children, we aretruly a blessed generation. We are loved by the Lord and in Him we aretruly blessed, nothing we have done is why He loves us, it is in Him that weget our strength to move forward. There is nothing that we have done orcan do to cause Him to love us, it is truly the love of the Lord that binds ustogether. It is the love of the Lord that keeps us. . . onward to Chapter Two - The Loveof Jesus. 9|Page
  10. 10. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand It Chapter Two The Love of Jesus John 1:1-5 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2The same was in the beginning with God.3All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life wasthe light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darknesscomprehended it not.John 3:14-17 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, evenso must the Son of man be lifted up:15That whosoever believeth in himshould not perish, but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world, thathe gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should notperish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the worldto condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. In all my reading and research of the word for me John 1:1-5 tells us whoJesus really is and John 3:14-17 tells us what love really is. When we arefaced with so many issues in our lives, sometimes we just do not take thetime to understand that God is truly moving and doing what is necessarybecause He loves us. He keeps us in the safety of His arms and really bringsus to the point of understanding His love if we allow Him.The love of Jesus is truly an awesome thing to think about. When we takethe time to really mediate and get rid of the things that are blocking ourminds to be free in Jesus, we are able to truly hear from Him and know Hislove. It is in His love that we get strength to continue to press on even when 10 | P a g e
  11. 11. we are ready in the flesh to give up. We are more than that in Christ. Wehave to understand that His love is truly a blessing to us for He did not haveto love us. Remember God destroyed the earth once before and if He choseto do it again, He could do so. What stops Him from doing so; it is His lovefor us that keeps Him from destroying us.When we look at the love of the Lord, we need to realize what the Word saysfirst, He was here in the beginning of life itself. So when the world wasbeing formed, He was here. The Word says that in John Chapter One,and to back it up, in Genesis the Word says. . .Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after ourlikeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over thefowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over everycreeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.Notice the reference to "we". . . I believe that it is so we know that Jesus isGod. He was there! And still, the love begins when He formed the earth. The love for His children began and He blessed us with a place to live in theforming of the earth, adding light to darkness, and calling it Day and Night. He loved us when He created the Heaven and divided the waters. He lovedus when He created dry land, seas, trees, grass, and the plant life that weenjoy so much. He loved us when He created the stars, sun, and the moonso that we would have light and seasons. He loved us when He made all theanimals, those on the land, those in the air, and those in the waters. Heloved us when He directed them all to be fruitful and multiply. 11 | P a g e
  12. 12. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItHis love was not finished for on the sixth day, He loved us so much, Hemade us in His image. We were created in His likeness, no one else but Hislikeness. He made Adam first, and He knew that man should not be alone,He made Eve, his helpmeet. He gave us dominion over the entire world, theentire earth and all things in this earth. He loved us so much; He put us incharge. Remember what He told Adam and Eve inGenesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominionover the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every livingthing that moved upon the earth. It is truly a blessing from the Lord to have the kind of control over the earththat He has given us. Truly a shame to see what we are doing to it, but thatis because of the fall of man. Even in the fall of man, He loved us.We fell from this wonderful place the Lord created for us, the Garden ofEden. Yes, we were not there, but we are Adam and Eve too. We fell fromthe Lords way for us by being disobedient to Him. The entire Chapter ofGenesis Three shows how we fall from Him by allowing ourselves to bedeceived, but there is one factor we have to look at first. The Lord gave us amind to think and also free will before eating of the Tree of Knowledge ofGood and Evil. Adam and Eve were walking with the Lord and talking withthe Lord. They had a beautiful life and could have chosen to keep it thatway. The love of the Lord gave them a taste of how life can be, but He knewHe had to allow them to serve Him willingly and not selfishly. The serpentwas permitted to come and tempt. The serpent was permitted because the 12 | P a g e
  13. 13. Lord wanted us to serve because we wanted to serve Him, not because wedid not have any other way to live. He loved us so much, He gave us choice!Eve did not choose the way of the Lord and Adam followed right after her. However, the Lord loves us. He loves us so much that He did not kill Adamand Eve. He let them live and He promised the coming of Jesus.Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, andbetween thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shaltbruise his heel.He knew when we fell, that we were going to need a Savior, He loved useven then. He had us leave Paradise with a promise to return, that is love.Time moves on and man becomes wicked and yet, He did not kill us. Hesaved a man and his family who according to the word of God found gracewith God.Genesis 6:6-8 6And it repented the LORD that he had made man on theearth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7And the LORD said, I will destroyman whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that Ihave made them. 8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.Yes, we grieved God to the point of wanting to kill us all, and of all thosepeople who were walking this earth at that time, only one family foundgrace, Noahs family. He spared that family from certain death, now that islove. 13 | P a g e
  14. 14. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItMan prospered and repopulated the Earth. Man did a lot of foolish thingssuch as the Tower of Babel trying to build to the sky to reach heaven. TheLord still blessed His people, those that were determined to serve the Lord.Abraham was born Abram and he was a man who walked and talked withthe Lord. Despite the fact that Abraham lied on several occasions trying tospare his own life, and took some matters into his own hand withoutconsulting God first, the Lord blessed Abraham. He blessed him to prosperas Abraham was a rich man whose house served the Lord. He had abeautiful wife, and was blessed with a beautiful son in his old age.We all know that story of Abraham that is told in Genesis Chapter 11:26to Genesis Chapter 23, where the story of Isaac starts. Abraham was aman who was tested by God and he obeyed God. He loved the Lord so muchthat he was to sacrifice his son to the Lord, and God loved him so, that Hestopped him from doing it. Abraham pleaded for the cities of Sodom andGomorrah for the righteous souls in those cities and though there were notany righteous in those cities, the Lord saved his nephew and family fromcertain death. This is yet Gods love.God made a covenant with Abraham that his seed would be more than starsin the heavens. (Genesis 15:4-6 and Genesis 22:16-18). This is still thelove of God, as we look at the lineage of Abraham. Out of his loins rose ahuge nation, the twelve tribes of Israel were born of his sons children(Abraham, Isaac, Jacob = twelve tribes of Israel). He kept His covenantwith Abraham and He had the family grow. The family was saved on manyoccasions from certain death as they were making mistakes in their lives. The Lord protected them, even Joseph when he was in the land of Egypt. The Lord raised Joseph, a Hebrew to answer to be second in command of 14 | P a g e
  15. 15. Egypt with only answering to Pharaoh himself (Genesis 41:39-46). Yet indoing so, the Lord saved the family yet again, this is the love of Jesus. The Lord spoke of the ruling over Abrahams family to be afflicted for fourhundred years, pre warning them of things to come (Genesis 15:12-14).This is love of the Lord. He did not have to tell Abraham a word of what wasto come or how long they would serve in affliction, but the Lord did. This islove. He sent them a man to guide them out of their bondage; this is thelove of the Lord. He had to make him special first. Moses was a specialchild, who found favor in the eyes of the Pharaohs daughter after aproclamation went out that all Hebrew males were to be killed at birth(Exodus 1:8 to Exodus 2:10). He was blessed by the Lord and placed ina position of favor with the Lord. This was love, for his life was spared forthe glory of the Lord. Moses came to take the Israelites from the bondage ofEgypt and the Lord used plagues to show His mighty power and strength tothe Egyptians. I believe it was a way for those that might believe that God isGod and there is no other God before Him to the Egyptians as they wereand still known for their many gods. Now, that is a God of love.God, in His awesome ways, freed the Israelites from the bondage to theEgyptians and saved them in battle so many times. Even after theydisobeyed Him on many occasions. He still loved them and those that wererighteous before Him did not die. Those that were unrighteous before theLord did die. For example, those that were part of the building of the idolswere killed, but those that stood for the Lord were spared. Those that werecomplainers did not see the Promise land, but the Lord spared the Israelitesin battle to get there. He saved the Israelites in many battles as long as theyconducted themselves in the manner that He instructed them. Remember 15 | P a g e
  16. 16. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itthe Walls of Jericho (The book of Joshua) and the conquering of all theland the Lord blessed them with. Remember Gideon (Judges ChapterSeven) and how the Lord saved them in a battle with a small number ofmen. This was the love of the Lord.He sent Esther (The book of Esther) to the King to be his wife to save theIsraelites yet again from certain death. He blessed His people with suchgrace and mercy repeatedly despite their disobedience. This is love. Theultimate act of love was yet to be seen. There were years between the Lordtalking with His people and the birth of Christ. He had not abandoned Hispeople, they had abandoned Him. He was still the same God as always justas His people were always still His people, getting into trouble and the Lordbailing them out. If you really read the Old Testament, you will see how theLord set things up for worshipping Him, sacrifices and being in Hispresence. At the end of the Old Testament and during the beginning of the NewTestament, the way to receive forgiveness was to take your offering for theLord. To the priest and the priest would take the offering to the Lord. Onlythe High Priests could go into the presence of the Lord and even some ofthem died in His presence. In Leviticus, there are rules and priest rituals forthe Israelites; Deuteronomy is detailed law/code by which the Israeliteswere to live by. I find those books to be very interesting because of thedetail and order that the Lord placed on His people. One of the interesting facts is that the priest had to offer up their sins firstand then the peoples sin, a reminder of how unclean we really are in thepresence of the Lord. It is important to remember that no one was 16 | P a g e
  17. 17. permitted in the Holies of Holy, no one but the High Priest was permittedthere. As we think on all that the Israelites and mankind has been through in justthe Old Testament, the stories are mostly about those of the Israelitenation. There are a few references to people who were not of the Israelitenation, but when mentioned it was because they were at war with theIsraelites. This is because God made a covenant with Abraham and Hisseed, the Israelites. Yet there were many more nations not born of theIsraelites that God loved. How do I know that God loved them? Thescriptures at the beginning of the chapter:John 3:14-17 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, evenso must the Son of man be lifted up:15That whosoever believeth in himshould not perish, but have eternal life.16For God so loved the world, thathe gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should notperish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the worldto condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. These scriptures are not talking about just the Israelites, but the world.True love came down in the form of man, our God can down in the form ofman, and this man was named Jesus. He was no ordinary man from themoment of His conception. He was not created by ordinary men, but byGod Himself. He left Heaven to come save us. His birth was a miracle oflove. He was born of a virgin, who knew no man while she carried Him inher womb. The enemy tried to kill Him from the day of His birth, by killingoff all those male children under the age of two. This man grew in spirit andin truth, which means He was perfect. He was perfect in all ways. Yet, the 17 | P a g e
  18. 18. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itlove has not shown fullness of the love He has for us. All He has done thusfar for the Israelites and now being born has not yet shown His true love forus.Jesus walked this earth 33 years. He was in the ministry of healing andmiracles for three years. Many were saved, healed, delivered, set free, forgiven and truly loved by Jesus. There are so many stories that are in theword of God that tells us what He did while He was here and there areplenty that are not told.John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, thewhich, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the worlditself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.He was a walking miracle maker. He spoke life into everyone andcondemned no one but preached everlasting life if we just believe in Him.This is still not the most precious act of love that the Lord has given us.He was beaten beyond recognition. Let us think about that for a minute, Hewas beaten beyond recognition, which is saying that He was beaten beyondreason.Isaiah 52:14 (KJV) - As many were astonied at thee; his visage was somarred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men;Isaiah 52:14 (NIV) - Just as there were many who were appalled at him,his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his formmarred beyond human likeness 18 | P a g e
  19. 19. Take a moment and allow that to sink in. Think about the fact that wewatch gross stuff on television all the time, look at yourself in the mirrorand try to picture your face so bloody, so beaten up that no one could tell itwas you. He was beaten for us. Now let us really look over the death ofJesus for a minute. I am sure we are all familiar with it enough but thereare a few points I want to make to get a picture of His state BEFORE Hewas crucified. He was beaten beyond recognition before He was crucified; He was beatenbefore the Jews had a chance to select Barnabas over Him. It states inJohn 19:1-3 1Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. 2Andthe soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they puton him a purple robe, 3And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smotehim with their hands.I did a search online for the practice of scourge and it is so brutal. It wasmeant as a torture method to get information from the victim. In myresearch the Roman Empire kept showing up as the worst offenders to thispractice. It is taught to some that Jesus was hit with 39 lashes, but if that isso, it was done by the Jews for the Romans were known to go for longperiods of time whipping their victims. In reading all of that, we will cometo see that Jesus received the worse punishment ever from these people. Now this is love, but still not the most precious act of love that Jesus hasshown us. This is all prior to His actual crucifying. He still had to actuallydie on the cross. Saying that Jesus died on the cross sounds so much betterthan what really happened. Now imagine Jesus has been beaten beyondrecognition, which means He is not only sore, beaten, but tired and body 19 | P a g e
  20. 20. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itbroken. Most likely having passed out at times from the pain, as theRomans were cruel people. Yet, the cruelest part has yet to come, aftergoing through all that, He now faces the actual cross. He started out carrying His cross which is estimated to be 75 to 125 poundsfor the cross and 300 pounds for the entire cross. Now, we know He wastoo weak to carry His cross so another man carried it for Him (Matthew27:32; Mark 15:21; Luke 23:26). Yet He had to hang on it. He wasnailed to the cross and then hung to die. He hung there by nails, which hadto be ripping His hands to pieces as gravity is pulling His body down. As Heis there on the cross, He asked the Lord to forgive us for our sins, for weknow not what we do to Him. This is love, yet not the greatest act of love yetshown to us by Him. He forgives the other man who is hanging on the crossat the same as he is and tells him that He is forgiven and loved. This is yet another act of love from Jesus. He dies and when He dies, theveil in the temple was ripped from the top to the bottom (Matthew 27:51,Mark 15:38, and Luke 23:45). This is the first step towards the greatestact of love that Jesus has shown to us. Give me yet a few more moments ofyour time to complete the picture, but keep this in mind.He is laid in the tomb for burial and as we know, He defeats death and theenemy, by rising in life for all eternity with all powers in His hands.Nothing can defeat Him and yet there are a few more things to mention. After His resurrection but before ascending to Heaven and His throne inglory, He was here with the disciples instructing them and minister to themon how to be His disciples. He instructs them on what to do and where togo. He spends time again with His people. This is still not the act of love 20 | P a g e
  21. 21. that I am speaking about. He made us a promise that if we believe on Him,we would not perish but have ever lasting life, because He came to give lifeeverlasting. It is His promise that He has made to us that is the beginningof the greatest act of love that Jesus has done for us.The greatest act that Jesus has done for us was:Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, forthey hear.Do you see where I am going with this, the greatest act of love does not juststop in all that I have mentioned in this chapter because it is just thebeginning of the love, and the greatest act of it all is that we are blessed byHim to have the ears and eyes to know Him. We are a chosen generation, aroyal priesthood. We are special unto the Lord for. . .John 10:27-28 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and theyfollow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. The greatest act of love given unto us is the love He showed us when Heplucked us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Was it you that savedyourself, was it you that made it so you could hear what was being said toyou about His love? Did you have anything to do with why you are saved? No, you did have the choice to accept it, but He made it so you heard Hiscall for your life in Him. How many times did He call you prior to the timeyou came to Him? Why did you not accept it then? Why did you ignore itthen? Did you even hear Him calling you? 22. 22. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itears and eyes to Him. It is truly the love of Jesus that made it so the scalesfell from your eyes so you could see how Jesus truly is to you.He loves us so much that we hear His call for our lives, He loves us so muchthat He places and allows circumstances to come our way that not onlybrings us closer to Him but makes us stronger in our walk with Him.Have you heard the Lord calling you to Him? Have you heard Him tellingyou to give it all up and come to Him to allow Him to love you? If so, thenyou have received the greatest gift that He has given us. . . you are no longerdeaf to Him and you can now see His love in your life, so that you can trulyunderstand what He has done for you by dying on the cross, rising andhaving all power in His hands. You are truly loved for He has set you free. 22 | P a g e
  23. 23. Chapter Three The Compassion of Jesus Lamentations 2:22-23 22It is of the LORDs mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Romans 9:15-16 15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy onwhom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will havecompassion. 16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. The compassion of Christ is about the heart of Jesus, the actual outcome ofHis love in action. It is more of a cause and effect situation, He loves us andshows us compassion because He loves us. It is truly the Lord who shows usthe ultimate example of compassion for His people. Throughout the bible,we see examples of compassion that He has shown us since the beginningof time, as we know it.When we look at the word Compassion . . . it represents pity, mercy, andlove as a feeling towards another. As we think about this word, we knowthat Jesus had compassion for this world and all of us in it, not just forsome of us, but for all of us. His actions as He walked this earth showed thecompassion that He has for us and even to this day, the compassion that Hehas shown us is awesome.Let us go over a few of His times of compassion and compare to our ownlives for a minute or two. Jesus had compassion for the world, the lost in 23 | P a g e
  24. 24. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itsin, for He came to this earth to take on our sins forever. He has shown uscompassion in this manner. When He was a baby, He shown compassionon His parents for saving them from the evils of the King who sought to killJesus. I am sure if they would have had the chance, Joseph and Mary wouldhave died too. So God sent an angel to Joseph to warn him to leave to sparetheir lives. This is yet compassion on the family of Jesus. God is trulymerciful to us.The miracles that Jesus performed while He walked this earth are a sign ofcompassion and love for His people. It is important to know that the Lorddoes all that He does because of His love for us; it is expressed in Hiscompassion for our lives and situation of life. When He was here on earth,He did so many things that the word says that the world would be filed withbooks.John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, thewhich, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the worlditself could not contain the books that should be written. AmenLet us look at the different types of miracles that He provided. There arefive basic types of miracles that He performed. He performed miraclesbased on cures, exorcisms, nature, and power over death along withspiritual knowledge. Do we see these things still this day. . . yes we do.Jesus performed cures to fever, leprosy, issues of blood, (which was a longterm disease), withered hands, dropsy, deafness, blindness, and paralysis. There was even a mention in the word of Jesus healing someone from asickness, but it was never named. Even today, healings are being done inthe name of Jesus. Some healings involve medicine, surgery, but there is 24 | P a g e
  25. 25. still what we call miraculous healings. There have been people withunexplainable healings such as cancer being gone when it was clearly seenin the body. There are still situations such as surgery that is performed andit has been through that people would not survive. There are people whosuffer heart attacks and strokes that doctors are amazed that they have a100% recovery. These are just examples of unexplainable healings. It amazes doctors when I tell them of my history of my body. I have beenblessed to survive three types of cancer that had come my way and yet I amstill here alive to see the outcome. This is the compassion that the Lord hasshown me in my life concerning my illnesses. For the lapse of time that Ihad each cancer, the cancer should have spread to several different placesin my body, and still none has ever done so. It has kept to a nice neat areaof the affected area and the cancer was removed without major damage tomy system.Still today, there are those that are healed with no medical surgery, medication, or treatment of any kind. We have all heard at one point oranother how someone had some illness and then the next thing, they arewell with no medical explanation. There are people with tumors that are the size of another person and yetthey are able to have it removed to live normal lives. We have to see that inall aspects of healings that are given unto us this day. We have to come toterms with the fact that some illnesses are healed in death. It does not meanthat God failed them, as a survivor of cancer, a survivor of so many things;that I have learned is that even in death there is victory. Let me explainmore. . . 25 | P a g e
  26. 26. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItMy mother had Hepatitis C, along with Lupus; her illnesses were attackingall of her organs except her brain. She was not feeling well and the last timeI spoke to her, she spoke of being tired and ready to go on home to Jesus.Of course, her only being 20 years older than me at the time, I did not wantto hear that from her, but she was tired. She entered into the hospital onenight in November, 2005 never to walk out of there again. We had her onmachines as she was not brain dead, and we believed that she would comeback to us. She was responding to our conversations to her and around her,so we knew she could hear us and probably most times wanted to smack us.I will never forget as I stood by her bedside and told her how much I lovedher and wanted her to get well. I saw a tear drop from her eye and I cried allthe way home that night. As much as we did not get along at times, I lovedher so much and felt so helpless in helping her.We had to come to terms with her dying as her body just shut down all in amatter of 24 hours after I asked God to spare my mother in whatevermanner He felt right for her. I told Him that I was ready to let her go if Ihad to do so but He was going to have to take her from me as my heartcould not do it. I got a phone call less than 24 hours later telling me to cometo the hospital for she would not make it through the night. Her entireintestine was mush and the rest of her organs were headed there. Theyassured us that they had her on strong drugs and it is believed that shecould feel noc pain. We decided to let them remove the breathing devicesand close family members were there as she took her last breath. She leftthis world on November 16, 2005 and is still very much missed by us all, yetthe Lord has given her victory in her death. She is no longer in pain, He has 26 | P a g e
  27. 27. healed her. He took her so that she could suffer no more, she would not feelas tired as she was anymore. She is truly free in Jesus. Now, of course we wanted a healing of her body so she was still with us, butthe Lord knew that she had served her purpose in this life and it was timefor the pain to stop. He healed her by removing her from that life. Hestrengthened us to deal with it and to continue on with her story of love andcompassion as we stood that day to remember her at her memorial service. She was truly blessed by the Lord as her breath slipped away just aspeaceful as the Lord would have it to be. No gasping for air, there was nobig heavy signs, just surrounded by family that loved her and wanted herpain to end. This was a miracle of healing for her soul and body, as she wastruly ready to move on.Therefore, we have medical miracles every single day, even in death thoughwe may not understand it; we must follow what the word of God says in:Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the Lord with all thing heart; and lean notunto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and heshall direct thy path.Look to the Lord in all things, even when you do not understand it, even indeath there is healing. The next set of miracles that Jesus performed is exorcisms. It is somethinghow we, as the body of Christ, do not want to deal with this subject mosttimes. We acknowledge that there is a spiritual warfare going on, yet we donot learn how to keep ourselves from being taken over by a spirit. Yes, we asChristians can be taken over by different spirits, even if that is just for a 27 | P a g e
  28. 28. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itmoment, the spirit of jealousy, lust, selfishness, just to name a few. Thereare some who have more than that in themselves. As we read in the word ofGod, Jesus was casting demons out of people so that they were free in Him.There are two stories in the word that we want to talk about in connectionwith todays living. The casting out of legion as there were many along withthe spirits knowing if you have the power over them or not. Let us go to thecasting out the demon called legion. The story of casting out of the demonsis mentioned both in Mark Chapter 5 and Luke Chapter 8. Thesespirits knew Jesus from a distance as stated inMark 5:6-7 6But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshippedhim, 7And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee,Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thoutorment me not.It is clear in Mark that these demons knew the power of Jesus over themand knew what He could do to them. What was interesting is that thesedemons worshipped the Lord when they saw Him. Remember every kneeshall bow and ever tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord. Even duringthis Jesus showed compassion on these demons as it states inLuke 8:31-33 31And they besought him that he would not command themto go out into the deep. 32And there was there an herd of many swinefeeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would sufferthem to enter into them. And he suffered them. 33Then went the devils outof the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down asteep place into the lake, and were choked. 28 | P a g e
  29. 29. Have you ever seen anyone walking around town and they are talking tothemselves, they are in their own little world doing things that are not intheir right mind? Remember this when you see them. . .Ephesians 6:11-13 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may beable to stand against the wiles of the devil.12For we wrestle not againstflesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against therulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in highplaces.13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye maybe able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. This is not to judge those with mental illnesses, but to let us be aware thatwe do not wrestle against ourselves, but the spirits within ourselves. Theword lets us know also that everyone is not going to have this power to castthese demons out without the Lord giving you this power. It takes being inthe word of God and strong in Him to come at those demons such asmentioned above. Just as they knew Jesus when they saw Him andworshipped Him, they also know those that try to defeat them and cannotdo so, to those people; they ignore and maybe even posses. As it says inActs 19:11-16 11And God wrought special miracles by the hands ofPaul: 12So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs oraprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went outof them. 13Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them tocall over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying,We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14And there were sevensons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15And theevil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are 29 | P a g e
  30. 30. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itye? 16And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, andovercame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of thathouse naked and wounded. We have to be aware of the outcome if we are not lined up with the word ofGod, walking in His love. He has shown us how to be in Him and themiracles that we can perform, but He has also shown us what can happen ifwe are faking it. In all of that, we see the miracles of the Lord, Hiscompassion not only on us, but on the demons too.We are to draw close to the Lord. As mentioned in every single one of mybooks I lost my mind one night, I mean truly lost it. I do not know who thatwoman was and could truly tell you that I believe I was under the influenceof something that was not me. I felt different, I acted different, and I spokedifferent than I have ever done in my life. Was I possessed at that time, notin the sense that most of us think of being possessed, but there were spiritsacting in me that were not of Jesus and it was in Him that I was able toovercome. We truly have to understand, as we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, the enemy wants to kill us and destroy us, how can he do that, in mostcases, he has to get in our minds and get us thinking outside of ourcharacter in Christ. It states in:John 10:10-11 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and todestroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have itmore abundantly. 11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth hislife for the sheep. 30 | P a g e
  31. 31. We have to understand what the enemy is coming to do yet remember whatJesus has done. This is one outcome of His compassion for us. He knowsthat the enemy is going to attack our mind possibly possess us to get us tobe outside of the will of God even if it is for a minute or months at a time,we need to be mindful of the compassion that Jesus has shown us byempowering us in Him.Miracles of nature, Jesus performed these types of miracles that had peoplein awe of what He did. It was one thing to speak to demons and to healpeople but to command the elements of life too. When reading the word ofGod, we see how the Lord was able to do so much while He was here andthen bless us with eth same power in Him to do the same. Praise the Lordfor it.Some of the miracles of nature is the feeding of the hungry. He took a littleand made a lot .When He fed the men, mind you, the numbers onlyrepresent the men that were there, there were 5,000 men and 4,000 menthat were fed. The 5,000 men who were fed from five loaves and two fishesand is located in all four gospels (Matthew Chapter 14, Mark Chapter6, Luke Chapter 9, and John Chapter 6). Jesus fed them yet again, there were 4,000 men fed on seven loaves and few little fishes. Both times, there was food left over after everyone had their fill of food. Okay, this isjust so awesome. As we look over the compassion of Jesus, these peoplewere listening to the word of God and into what He was saying that few hadfood with them. They were compelled to hear Him speak. They did notleave to go get food. Jesus knew He had to feed them and feed them He did.The feeding of 4,000 men can be found in Matthew 15:32-38. 31 | P a g e
  32. 32. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItThere is Jesus first miracle, which was the wine at the wedding, and Hiswine was better than the previous wine. He showed compassion for the hostof the wedding to help provide them with being a good host. As we aretoday, we do not like to run out of things when we are being hospitable andJesus stepped right on in with no hesitation and showed compassion forthis family, by providing for them. This miracle can be found in JohnChapter 2.We need to remember in both of these miracles are examples of Jesusshowing compassion on us for our physical need of substance. We need toeat and be replenished for there is strength in the food that we eat. Yes,man does not live by bread alone as referred to in Matthew 4:4 and Luke4:4, yet we know we still need that bread to live. Our bodies start to shutdown when we do not eat after a long time. Yet, the Lord continues toprovide, He shows us in our own lives when we are in need that He willprovide what we need. If it is the money to buy the food or someone givingfood to you to help, you make it through until more comes. The Lordsupplies our needs in this manner. He shows us the compassion that He hasfor us by providing the things that we need to keep our strength in thephysical body that He created for us.Along with that, Jesus performed the miracles of catching the fish which islocated in John 21:6, along with a few others but let us touch one morespecific nature miracles, the calming of the storm. This story is inMatthew 8:23-27. Now this story shows us how when the Lord was onthe boat with the disciples, a bad storm came and the disciples feared fortheir lives, yet the Lord showed compassion on their silliness and little faithand calmed the seas. He knew that the storms were raging, but He also 32 | P a g e
  33. 33. knew who He was and there was no need to be in fear for anything. Sincethe beginning of time, He has calmed the storms in our lives. He is the seacalmer, yet they had little faith to satisfy their fears, He showed compassionfor them and calmed the sea for them. Many times, we read the scriptures in Psalms to calm our souls and this isyet another example of His compassion for us. See how this very passagecan relate to not just our lives now, but during the storm that wasmentioned in Matthew Chapter 8.Psalm 107:23-30 23They that go down to the sea in ships, that dobusiness in great waters; 24These see the works of the LORD, and hiswonders in the deep. 25For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof. 26They mount up to the heaven, they godown again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble. 27Theyreel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their witsend. 28Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth themout of their distresses. 29He maketh the storm a calm, so that the wavesthereof are still.30Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeththem unto their desired haven. When the storms of life are raging all around us, the Lord is right there withus bringing the storms to calmness and yet if we are in Him, we will justride out the storm knowing that nothing will come to us because He is thehead of our lives.Jesus performed many miracles, yet there are only four recordings of risingfrom the dead that He performed, His own death and resurrection, the sonof the widow, his friend Lazarus, and Jairus daughter. Jesus death and 33 | P a g e
  34. 34. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itresurrection is located in every single gospel. . . Matthew, Mark, Luke, andJohn. The rising of the son of the widow is mentioned in Luke 7:11-15,which states in verse 13, "And when the Lord saw her, he had compassionon her, and said unto her, Weep not."The death of Lazarus states that Lazarus was merely sleeping and Jesusproclaimed that Lazarus was not dead. The story is located in John 11:1-44. The death of Jairus daughter is located in Luke 8:41-56. In all cases, everyone except Jesus was stated to be asleep not dead, He wanted peopleto see that death is eternal, that life is eternal, yet none understood whileHe walked with them.So many times we have a love one pass away and we are saddened by theirleaving, yet we should not be saddened when one who was saved has goneon, because we shall see them yet again, if we live our lives right. He that isnot saved, shall die an eternal death. If you are saved, in your passion youhave eternal life. Jesus has shown us compassion by showing us how we donot have to die a death of all eternity but when we are no longer here andwaiting for the first resurrection, we will be sleeping in Him, not dead toHim. It is an example of how His words are even compassionate when Hespeaks to us about the things of sorrow in our lives. There is still one more story of compassion of Jesus and death, thoughJesus was not here on earth, He sent the Holy Spirit which is of Him tocome and comfort us, with this baptism of the Holy Spirit, we have powerover all things in this life. We have the ability to raise the dead if we believeand have faith that we can. Paul was preaching so long that a young manfell asleep during the service, with the compassion of Jesus in him, Paul 34 | P a g e
  35. 35. raised this young man from his sleep, yet this is not by the power of Paulbut the power of Jesus. This is located in Acts 20:9-12. In all of this Jesusstill shows us that we have victory even when we believe that the life is gonefrom things, just another reminder that He is the way, the truth, and thelight of this world. The last miracle type is miracle of spiritual knowledge. We know that Godknows all things, that He is the Alpha and Omega, He has all knowledge, but we do not have this, this is truly a blessing of the Lord. He has allknowledge so it is a miracle for us to witness it. He has blessed us to be ableto speak prophesy but that is when He grants us this knowledge. It is solelybased on the will of the Lord on who has this gift. The fact that Jesus knowsthe number of hairs on our head is a miracle, He knows all our thoughtsand where we were and going. It is the love of the Lord that makes it so. Heshows us compassion when He speaks to our hearts, and when He sends usa word from Him. We have to understand that all the Lord is doing for uson our behalf is all spiritual knowledge in Him.There are many who will look over the writings of this chapter and say thatit is all by chance or just rubbish, but we can look at things in this day andsee the compassion of Jesus still in things that happen now.Psalm 86:14-16 14O God, the proud are risen against me, and theassemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set theebefore them. 15But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, andgracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. 16O turn untome, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, andsave the son of thine handmaid. 35 | P a g e
  36. 36. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItPsalm 145:7-9 7They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy greatgoodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. 8The LORD is gracious, andfull of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 9The LORD is goodto all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. There have been some major catastrophes here in United States, such asSeptember 11th and Hurricane Katrina and even more recently HurricaneIke, yet through it all Jesus was with us and showed His compassion for thehuman race. Most people question why these bad things happen by blamingthem on God, when in essences we need to blame them on man, not God.Just as we choose to serve the Lord or not serve Him, He allows us todetermine what happens in society as a whole. He does not want us to belike robots but to serve Him in spirit and in truth.John 4:24 God is a Spirit; and they that worship him must worship himin spirit and in truth. There are many who do not hear the Lord calling them, they have yet toaccept the greatest act of love that He has for us, so in doing so, whathappens, sin still runs rampant. For example, the grievances that theterrorist had against the United States caused them to plot against us usingour own resources against us. This is nothing but sin, why did some die andothers did not, for the Lord had compassion and prevented for all to perish.Whereas Hurricane Katrina and Ike is also a man made problem, we aredoing things to this earth that was not intended to happen to it, by takingresources and depleting resources that is not meant to be done. Such as theair we have by pollution, destroying the protection that we have with ozone, going out into outer space repeatedly, this has all changed the way the 36 | P a g e
  37. 37. weather happens. We as humans and our greed (a sin) have changed whatthis plant was meant to be. Our hatred (a sin) for someone who is different, and the power that we want (a sin) have caused so many catastrophes herewhether it is wars, rumors of wars, change in the weather that causesdeaths, it is all done by the actions of man. Jesus shows His compassion forus by sparing those that He feels are needed to be spared. It is also another way to see His glory shine through. We are the cause ofthe mess of this world, since the beginning of time. During all of this timeJesus has shown His compassion for His people and for those that have yetto come to Him. We still have to remember that we have to work on ourfellowship/relationship with Him, have faith in Him, and remember thatHe does have guidelines that we must follow to be complete in Him. Praisethe Lord for His compassion and may we always walk with Him for alleternity. Let us discuss how to do this in the next chapter, The Fellowshipwith Jesus. 37 | P a g e
  38. 38. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand It Chapter Four The Fellowship with Jesus John 15:4-7 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6If a man abide not inme, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7If ye abide in me, andmy words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done untoyou. The meaning of fellowship . . . by the Eastons Bible Dictionary definition itis explained as: 1. With God, consisting in the knowledge of His will (Job 22:21; John 17:3); agreement with His designs (Amos 3:2); mutual affection (Romans 8:38-39); enjoyment of His presence (Psalm 4:6); conformity to His image (I John 2:6; 1:6); participation of His felicity (I John 1:3-4; Ephesians 3:14-21). 2. Of saints with one another, in duties (Romans 12:5; I Corinthians 12:1; I Thessalonians 5:17-18); in ordinances (Hebrew 10:25; Acts 2:46); in grace, love, joy, etc. (Malachi 3:16; II Corinthians 13:16); in sufferings (Romans 15:1-2; Galatians 6:1-3; Romans 12:15) and in glory (Revelation 7:9). 38 | P a g e
  39. 39. Webster Dictionary states fellowship as the condition of sharing similarinterests, ideals, or experiences, as by reason of profession, religion, ornationality. Fellowship is the companionship of individuals in a congenialatmosphere and on equal terms. It is a close association of friends or equalssharing similar interests. Friends; comradeship.Often times the Fellowship of Jesus is mistaken to be in reference ofreading our bible and praying, though those things are truly 100% essentialto knowing Jesus, they are not the only things that we should do to havefellowship with Jesus. We are quick to misjudge our own thoughts and the direction of the Lordand in this case, He has blessed us with fellowship with each other. In thisfellowship with each other, we will see that our walk with the Lord isstrengthened. We are to call on each other and be supportive of our fellowsisters and brothers in Christ.James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous manavaileth much.In confession of our faults, we are able to free ourselves from the lies, sins, doubts and those things that hold us back from having a better fellowshipwith Christ. We have a tendency when "Confessing" to ourselves things, notbearing all truths, but the more we practice James 5:16 and it is met withthe love of Jesus Christ, the more willing we are to do so. It is imperative toour very being to be a sister or brother in Christ that is able to not justconfess our faults, but able to take the confession from others and have itremain within us and not give out to others. 39 | P a g e
  40. 40. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItIt says in Romans 12:15-16 and Romans 12:4-5 very clearly how we areto be with our fellow sisters and brothers in Christ.Romans 12:15-16 15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep withthem that weep.16Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not highthings, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your ownconceits.Romans 12:4-5 4For as we have many members in one body, and allmembers have not the same office: 5So we, being many, are one body inChrist, and every one members one of another. The ultimate scripture to all of this is;John 13:34-35 34A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love oneanother; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35By this shallall men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. This brings us right back to the scriptures for this chapter, John 15:4-7.Throughout these scriptures, Jesus is telling us to abide in Him, to havefellowship with Him, to be likeminded with Him, for if we do not do so - weare cast away from him.His parable of the vine and branches gives to us the simplest explanation ofwhat happens when we do not abide/fellowship with Him. It states inverse 6 of John Chapter 15:If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; andmen gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 40 | P a g e
  41. 41. We get a clear picture what will happen if we do not abide in Jesus, if ourfellowship in this life is not in Him. We shall be cast into the pits of hellwith satan himself. We will not be subjected to punishment from satan, butwe will be eternally separated from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in asea of fire and brimstone, in eternal pain. As painful, scary, and unpleasantthat sounds, many will meet this fate, but we are given an opportunity tobuild our fellowship with Jesus and to keep Him ever before us in all thatwe do.We can see one importance of building our fellowship with Jesus, but Hehas blessed us to not do it alone. He has made us a part of a special family,a special body with Christ. We are His children and in our fellowship withHim, we are blessed with fellowship with likeminded sisters and brothers inChrist. These are other believers of Jesus, who may not always share thesame doctrine, we share the same Savior and in this He will work all therest out.Our fellowship with Jesus is imperative and so is our fellowship with eachother. God does not speak as He used to speak to Moses and those of OldTestament times. Remember the mountains would roar when Hispresence was in them. Moses himself, was blessed to see Gods back parts(Exodus 33:18-23), but no one has sat and talked with God face to face.yet God will send His people to others to minister unto them with a wordfrom the Lord. This is not to be mistaken for fortune telling claiming to be from the Lord. This is another reason why we need to have fellowship with Jesus so that 41 | P a g e
  42. 42. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itwe will know His voice, and will enable us to know when He has sent aword to us or when it is not Him.Have you ever been going through something and someone encouragesyour spirit by something that they said but yet they have no idea what youare going through, this is building your fellowship with Jesus.Have you ever been going about your day and a song of praise or a scripturecomes to you that will not leave? This is considered building yourfellowship with Jesus.Have you ever read a passage and got one meaning one time and the nexttime you read it, there is a new meaning to you? This is building yourfellowship with Jesus. We make having fellowship with Jesus harder than it really is; all we haveto do is desire to know Him more. In desiring to know more of Jesus, wewill be led by the Holy Spirit to do what is necessary to build a betterfellowship with Jesus. As we are striving to build our fellowship, our faith in the Lord will growstronger and in this we will come to see the full measure of His directionand love for us. 42 | P a g e
  43. 43. Chapter Five The Faith of Jesus I Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. In all things God is with us, and He is forever faithful to us. It is the faithfulness of the Lord that has kept us even during ourrebellion in life. As humans, we have been in rebellion against the Lordsince the day of Adam and Eve. We came into the knowledge of good andevil, and have chosen to follow our flesh and not the Spirit of the Lord, yetduring all this time of our rebellion, Jesus has been faithful to us.We are still able to live the life that we choose to live, whether for Him orfor ourselves for living for ourselves ends in destruction and eternal death.Yet in all of this, the Lord is faithful to His word.Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; itshall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.The word of the Lord is strong; He is faithful unto His word. The word ofthe Lord goes forth and returns back to Him not voided but completed inwhat He meant for it to do.Jesus was faithful from the beginning of time, since the consumption of thisearth, He has made sure that His word has not only gone forth but doeswhat He says it will do. 43 | P a g e
  44. 44. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItAs we read the word of the Lord, God has shown that when we follow Hisword, He is faithful to His word. The Israelites are a prime example of this, when Israel was living according to the Lord, He blessed that nation as Hesaid but when they would go astray after other gods and kings, the Lordallowed them to be in bondage and pain, yet when they called out to Him,He delivered them.It is clear in the word that His deliverance was always there for them, yet itwas the Israelites choice on whether or not to obey. God was faithful to Hisword then and now.Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.Throughout the word of God, He has shown His faithfulness to His peopledespite our choices. An excellent example of Gods faithfulness is Abraham,Abraham is known as a man of faith, faith for leaving His familys home andheaded to an unknown land that the Lord promised him and hisdescendants. Even during his doubting moments of the protection of theLord, when he told the kings not once but twice how Sarai/Sarah was nothis wife but his sister, the Lord protected him. These kings could haverightfully imprisoned Abraham or even killed him, but the protection of theLord prevailed. He even gained from it as the kings gave him money andtreasures to leave their lands. We are always saying how faithful Abraham was, but God was still morefaithful to Abraham. Abraham was no longer alive when his family grew tobe the number of the stars as the Lord spoke to Abraham. After Abrahamhad died, the Lord still kept His promise to Abraham and his family becamea nation. 44 | P a g e
  45. 45. We see examples of this throughout the word of the Lord with the men andwomen of the bible. Yet when it comes to our lives, we question the Lord,we wonder if He is going to be faithful to His word and keep us during thetimes of need, the times of joy and basically just in life all together.Jesus said that if we have the faith as a grain of mustard seed, nothing shallbe impossible unto us. He is faithful to His word; He keeps His word in allthat He does.Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief; forverily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shallsay unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shallremove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.Even during the times when we are weak and finding it hard to overcomeour weakness, the Lord has us in mind and His word will come forth andmove things according to the way that He says it will be.The Lord spoke to the father of the boy whom was dumb and possessed bydevils that if he believed, anything was possible, and the response of thefather was he did believe but he needed help to overcome his unbelief.Mark 9:23-24 (KJV) 23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, allthings are possible to him that believeth. 24And straightway the father ofthe child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mineunbelief. 45 | P a g e
  46. 46. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItMark 9:23-24 (NIV) 23" If you can?" said Jesus. "Everything ispossible for him who believes." 24Immediately the boys father exclaimed,"I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"A personal example that I have of this is how I used to be so concernedabout my finances, I was new in the Lord and was not sure how to deal withthings. I knew to pray but the trust and faith was far away. I was in need ofmoney and was waiting for a check to come so that I could do what I neededto do, and I was frazzled, just completely frazzled. I was crying and yellingand just so angry that I was having such a hard time. The Lord released themoney when I truly needed it, and I was relieved and thankful. It was inthat lesson and a few more that came with the finances, that I saw that Godwas faithful in His word. He provided for me and He kept me, now I justneeded to believe and have faith for He has done it before, He will alwayscontinue to do so.James 1:2-4 (KJV) 2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall intodivers temptations; 3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith workethpatience. 4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfectand entire, wanting nothing.James 1:2-4 (NIV) 2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever youface trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faithdevelops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that youmay be mature and complete, not lacking anything.Romans 5:2-4 2By whom also we have access by faith into this gracewherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3And not only 46 | P a g e
  47. 47. so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation workethpatience; 4And patience, experience; and experience, hope:He is faithful during our trials/temptations, for He is molding us to be morelike Him and to be complete in this life. It is truly the love and faithfulnessof the Lord to us. In His faithfulness to us, He is making us into betterChristians and giving us a better life enabling us to withstand the tests oftime and to live life eternally with Him.So as you are going through this life and things are happening to you, remember this in all that you go through. . .I Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as iscommon to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be temptedabove that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way toescape, that ye may be able to bear it.When we live for Jesus and fight the temptation, life is better. Rememberthis. . .Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternallife through Jesus Christ our Lord.Let us move forward to the unpleasant part of Christianity, the part that wejust really do not like to deal with, the wrath of the Lord. 47 | P a g e
  48. 48. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand It Chapter Six The Wrath of Jesus Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Praise the Lord, the word is true and complete. It is given unto us so that we will have life and have life abundantly for all eternity, yet if we choose to ignore it, the wrath of Jesus will come to us inthe end of all things. Many times we allow ourselves to just think of the side of the Lord that iscompassionate and loving, because it is the easiest part to deal with, but yetwe know there is a wrath of the Lord when we read the word, and it is notonly in the Old Testament. The wrath of the Lord is for those that are not living for the Lord, so youwill only feel His wrath if you deny Him and not pick up the cross and livefor Him. Those that deny the Lord, by outright denial by living solely forself or even those that say they know Jesus but choose to live a life full ofsin are going to feel the wrath of the Lord.As many of us know, the Lord showed many ways of His wrath in the OldTestament. He loves His people and will correct them, those that willfullydisobey the Lord, felt His wrath. Adam and Eve were sent out of the Gardenof Eden that started the life of hardship. Cain was sent from the presence ofthe Lord to wander the earth. The Israelites suffered the most from thewrath of the Lord, when they would not listen as lives were lost and many 48 | P a g e
  49. 49. times they were in bondage to other nations. A great nation such as Israelwas and still is suffering from their lack of belief in the Lord. When we read the word of the Lord, there are many things that show howHe can and will deal with His people. The most common that people speakabout is the flood in the days of Noah. The world was full of sin and onlyone was righteous before Him. When you read the book of Revelation andthe words of the New Testament, you will see that God is not playing withthe people of this world, time is winding down and it is up to us to get rightbefore the Lord - not tomorrow but right now today in Jesus. The book of Revelation, Daniel and Ezekiel tells us of what is to come andhow things are going to go when the complete wrath of the Lord is dealtwith. There will be plagues unlike any other plagues we have ever seen aseach seal of the seven seals are broken and the vials are let loose on thosethat are not followers of Christ. This is still not the ultimate wrath of the Lord; eternal separation from theLord by living apart from Him for all eternity is the final wrath of the Lord. Many people walk around believing that Hades and Hell do not exists. Some even believe that satan rules hell and there are even people who givethe word of the Lord stating that satan will torture us in hell, yet that is nottrue.Jesus is very clear about hell and what it was made for in MatthewChapter 25, verses 41, and He is clear about who will go there along withsatan and his angels. 49 | P a g e
  50. 50. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItMatthew 25:41, 45-46 41Then shall he say also unto them on the lefthand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for thedevil and his angels:45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch asye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46And theseshall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into lifeeternal. It is clear in the word of the Lord - what is going to happen and come aboutto those that are not following His instruction, yet the word is clear herethat those that do not do as He instructs will go away into everlastingpunishment BUT the righteous into life eternal. It is clear that death isseparation from the Lord and life is eternal life with Him.We are finding that people believe that satan is the one punishing us but inthe end it is Jesus who will be sending the judgment down upon those thatare none believers. The word of the Lord says. . .Jude 1:14-19 14And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied ofthese, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of hissaints, 15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that areungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodlycommitted, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners havespoken against him. 16These are murmurers, complainers, walking aftertheir own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, havingmens persons in admiration because of advantage. 17But, beloved, 50 | P a g e
  51. 51. remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of ourLord Jesus Christ;18 How that they told you there should be mockers in thelast time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be theywho separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.Revelation 20:12-15 12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand beforeGod; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which isthe book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which werewritten in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up thedead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead whichwere in them: and they were judged every man according to theirworks. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is thesecond death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of lifewas cast into the lake of fire. Now after reading that, some of you might be thinking, “but who are thesepeople that are not going to be with the Lord and spend eternity in hell withsatan?” The deceivers, are angels that followed satan. . . read the wordbelow:I Corinthians 6:8-10 8Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that yourbrethren. 9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdomof God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inheritthe kingdom of God.Galatians 5:19-21 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which arethese; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, 51 | P a g e
  52. 52. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itwitchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: ofthe which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that theywhich do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.Let us go over these things to get a better understanding of the word, andwhat it is really saying we need to not be a part of.Fornicators - illicit sexual intercourse of the unmarriedIdolaters - turning away from God to worship other things, such asdemons, other gods, things, people whether openly or secretly, consciouslyor unconsciouslyAdulterers - intercourse with the spouse of another , cultivatingfriendships with the world, thus breaking your spiritual union with Christ -this is called spiritual adultery as you were spiritually united to Him as wifeto husband.Effeminate - having feminine qualities untypical of a man: not manly inappearance or manner.Abusers of themselves with mankind - this is believed to behomosexuals and those that are unnatural sex, which depending onjurisdiction can consist of oral sex or anal sex or any non-genital to genitalcongress, whether heterosexual, or homosexual, or with human or animalThieves - self-explanatory - someone who steals and wont stop 52 | P a g e
  53. 53. Covetous - speaking of someone who is eager to have more in the sense tohave what belongs to others; hence greedy of gain, which also includesmoney, positions, possessions and peopleDrunkards - basically an alcoholic or being intoxicatedRevilers - to assail with abusive languageExtortioners - those that use extortionUncleanness - this is sexual uncleanness (by most definitions)Lasciviousness - this is sexual excessWitchcraft - this is not just witches and sorcery, but this also includes allthe occult things such as horoscopes, tarot readings, and palm readingsHatred - Self explanatory -hatingVariance - this is speaking of strife, and discordEmulations - this is speaking of jealousyWrath - self explanatory - uncontrolled angerStrife - this is speaking of self-ambitionSeditions - disagreement which leads to divisionHeresies - this is speaking of permanent organized divisions. cliques andas much as people do not like to hear this - it includes ALL secret societies 53 | P a g e
  54. 54. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itsuch as fraternities and sororities, also all those types of organizations inreligion/churchesEnvyings - when we are envying others or covetingMurders - self explanatory - but this is just not physical, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally murdersDrunkenness - over excessive drinking, and being intoxicatedRevellings - excess - including gluttony and carousingNow if you are currently in any of these lifestyles, you still have time tocome out of them and live for Jesus, yet if you choose not to come out ofthese things, then you will find that you will feel the wrath of Jesus. It is not a time to sit back and just enjoy life in our sins for it is clear by theword of the Lord, that there is going to come a time when we must answerfor our decisions in this life.It is in living for Jesus - you will find the true meaning behind theCompletion in Jesus. 54 | P a g e
  55. 55. Chapter Seven The Completion in Jesus John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:27-29 27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shallnever perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29MyFather, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able topluck them out of my Fathers hand.So many people are looking for completion in their lives, they come to Jesusand do not understand what they should do to have completion. Yet, the joyof knowing that you are one of His children should be completion enoughfor us, just knowing that we are going to spend eternity with Him shouldbring us the feeling of completion, yet many still do not feel complete inHim.Here are some things that bring completion in Jesus, after accepting Jesusas our personal savior...Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he thatcometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of themthat diligently seek him.Faith - faith is essential to feeling complete in the Lord, without faith youcannot even please the Lord, let alone feel complete. Faith is what keeps us 55 | P a g e
  56. 56. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand Itgoing, motivated, and looking to the Lord. Faith is believing His word, trusting His word, and knowing that praying to Him, reading His word andtruly looking to the Lord for direction will bring you to a place ofcompletion in the Lord.It is in our faith that keeps us in the Lord, and believing that He can doanything. It is our faith that believes His word when things look likenothing is going to come together. It is faith that brings us back to His wordreminding us...Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.Matthew 17:20-21 20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief:for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, yeshall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shallremove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21Howbeit this kindgoeth not out but by prayer and fasting. This leads us to the next thing to completion in Jesus. It is fasting andprayer. It should be our mindset to be one who fasts and prayers regularly. In our prayers, we are to be talking to the Lord and giving unto Him praise, love, seeking HIS direction, interceding on the behalf of others, along withtaking our own requests to the Lord.It is in our prayer life, that we will even see our true heart in the Lord, forpart of our prayer time is to be spent in silence hearing from the Lord as Hespeaks to our hearts. It is our prayer life that lets us know where our trueheart is by how we respond to His direction, His correction, His words and 56 | P a g e
  57. 57. His love. It is a blessing to have a prayer life for this is one of yourcommunications from the Lord.Prayer without fasting is truly not the completeness of your life in Jesus. Infasting, we give up things for the Lord, showing that we can deny our fleshto hear from Him. We do not fast so we can get stuff, we fast so that we canhear more clearly from the Lord. This is something that should not bemissed in our life in Jesus. It brings completeness in Jesus.2 Timothy 2:15-16 15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, aworkman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word oftruth. 16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase untomore ungodliness.Study of the word of the Lord, in other words, reading and studying thebible is essential to having completeness in Jesus. It is important toremember that you have all you need in the word of the Lord. It isimportant also that you receive direction in the word of the Lord. It is oneway to know you are in the will of the Lord, for if you are in His will, therewill not be scripture to contradict what you are doing, plan on doing oralready did.It is important to not only study the word of the Lord, but to know that it istrue.2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and isprofitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction inrighteousness: 57 | P a g e
  58. 58. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItWe have to not just know the word of the Lord, such as being able to reciteit, preach it and give out to others, but the most important part is to believeit for yourself and live it.It is so important that we know that Jesus words, the word of the bible aretrue for our own life. It is important that we look inside of the word andapply it to our very lives, even though there are times when we do not wantto apply the word to our lives. One of the scriptures that I personally have to fight to keepPhilippians 2:14-15 (KJV) 14Do all things without murmurings anddisputings: 15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God,without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, amongwhom ye shine as lights in the world;Philippians 2:13-14 (NLT)13For God is working in you, giving you thedesire and the power to do what pleases him.14 Do everything withoutcomplaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world fullof crooked and perverse people.I know many of us have issues with this word, because it is the hard not tocomplain or have disputes. The thing about it to me was not only do we notcomplain about something which includes venting, but we do not argue. Sothis means to those of us that bicker with our husbands, we are out of lineby the word of the Lord. It is not easy to really remember this to me, but Iknow the word of the Lord, so I know that I will be able to one day getthere, because I have faith and I believe the word of the Lord for myself. 58 | P a g e
  59. 59. One that should come natural to all Christians but it is not, is attendance ofchurch for it brings us to completion in Jesus. There are many who believein Jesus but do not attend church, they rely on the message via the radio, orthe television but forgetting the importance of the body of Christ comingtogether in fellowship, which in this age of life is attending church services, and different activities given in the church. Many have turned their back on the church because of the corruption, themistrust and even the mistruth being spoken but that is nothing but theenemy to keep us from fellowship, which strengthens our walk in the Lord. Most times when I speak to a sister or brother in Christ who are having a lotof struggles in their lives, they have not been to church services in a longtime, for at least in a month or more. To me missing two services is a longtime as the Jesus in me depends on the fellowship with likemindedbelievers. When I was sick and missed two Sunday services, I felt it in myvery being. I felt a little detached and needing to be among other praise andworshippers of Jesus. Many stay home and struggle, always wondering why things are the waythey are for they are missing a step in their walk with the Lord. We have toremember what the word of the Lord says about fellowship...1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we havefellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Soncleanseth us from all sin.Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in myname, there am I in the midst of them. 59 | P a g e
  60. 60. The Truth of Alissa Lynne III - As I Understand ItHebrews 10:24-26 24And let us consider one another to provoke untolove and to good works:25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselvestogether, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and somuch the more, as ye see the day approaching.26For if we sin wilfully afterthat we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no moresacrifice for sins,Romans 12:15-16 15Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep withthem that weep.16Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not highthings, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your ownconceits.Acts 2:42-47 42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine andfellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43And fear cameupon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.44And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45Andsold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as everyman had need. 46And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladnessand singleness of heart, 47Praising God, and having favour with all thepeople. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. It is clear that the Lord wants us to fellowship for many reasons, but onereason is clear - we are one body and how can we be one body in the Lord ifwe do not fellowship with each other and be on one accord. There are stillmore things that help us to be complete in Jesus. 60 | P a g e
  61. 61. One of the other ways is to focus on Jesus to be living truly for Christ. Wecannot be complete in the Lord when we are not focusing on His directionand His way for our lives. When we focus on the ways of the Lord and how He directs us, we will havea better walk in this life. I am not talking about the material side of thingsalthough I do believe that He does this also, but we will be able to walk inthe Lord with the full armour of God and be ready for all those things thatcome at us.We cannot do what the word says in Ephesians 6:11-17 if we do not knowthe Lord and truly walking in Him and living by His word and direction.Ephesians 6:11-17 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be ableto stand against the wiles of the devil.12For we wrestle not against fleshand blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers ofthe darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be ableto withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Standtherefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on thebreastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation ofthe gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith yeshall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take thehelmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:If we do not walk in the Lord, how can we walk in His spirit and by Hisspirit, it keeps us from doing things that we should not. If we do not walkand live in Jesus, how are we able to be complete in Him? He is to be ourdirection and our thoughts should be on Jesus. 61 | P a g e
