It’s a great time to be in business! • It’s easier than ever to get the word out about your business or product. • Social Media makes it easy. • Social Media makes your prospects more accessible. • But not so easy that you don’t need a strategy – so you don’t waste your time on things that aren’t going to work.
  3. 3. Know where your prospects spend their time • You can’t be everywhere. • Ask your prospects where they hang out. • Build your presence where your ideal customers are.
  4. 4. Choose one or two platforms and master them • Since you don’t have time to be everywhere (see previous step) or master many platforms – choose a couple and master them. • I mean master them! Like the guy opposite  • As your business grows, you can get some freelancers to help build your presence on other platforms.
  5. 5. What kinds of content work? • On your chosen platform – what kind of content do people prefer? • Pay attention to detail. What do your image sizes need to be? • Research leaders in your industry and see what they do.
  6. 6. Create your content • Create it. • Get it out there and test the response. • Use the analytics your chosen platform(s) provides. • Watch for trends and patterns.
  7. 7. Recycle your content • Make sure your business keeps attracting NEW people. • After 3-6 months, you can reuse the same content.
  8. 8. Don’t freeload! • Your content positions you as an expert. • Social media leads will be warmer than advertising leads. • The social media platforms have to make money too though! • Expect to pay for the privillege of reaching them.
  9. 9. Don’t do it alone. • Join some groups. • Make some new contacts. • Be social! • Create content you’re proud to share. • Ask for the shares and do the same for others.
