Why does the U.S. Health Care System need to be reformed? <ul><li>Health spending is projected to double to nearly $4.3 trillion by 2017 </li></ul><ul><li>In 2007, an estimated 116 million adults were uninsured, underinsured, reported a medical bill problem, and/or did not access needed health care because of cost </li></ul><ul><li>If premiums for employer-sponsored insurance grow in each state at the projected national rate of increase, the average premium for family coverage will rise from $12,298 (the 2008 average) to $23,842 by 2020 (94% increase) </li></ul>
