They don't use that vocabulary, but implicitly they do ask for that. It's about extracting the maximum value and making lots of money. Because business culture doesn't define happiness as a goal by itself, it's hard to sell a project about "making people happy."

They only go for functional satisfaction. The majority of the processes/projects that I've worked on in the past were pain killers. We worked on the medicine that was stopping the pain. If you ask someone what is the higher, higher, higher goal that she/he is pursuing, the answer is 'happiness'. Why not use that when you create work? A happy event is soon followed by a sad one, and shoes wear out. So, the happy "fix" is never permanent, so we keep looking. The happiness that is a factor of enlightenment is not dependent on objects, but is a state of mind cultivated through mental discipline. It's about harmony and, as Norman says, reflectiveness— because good things happen to you, you want to do good for others.
