<ul><li>Over months, I’ve been thinking of carrying out a detailed study into the anatomy of human hand, its complexity, its perfect design and the way human hand is taken as a model for constructing humanoid robots and cyborg models.I got occupied with this study as a part of my interest in robotics. </li></ul><ul><li>In this post, we’d be together learning some of the basic components in the human hand and the countless miracles in it. </li></ul><ul><li>Many animals and other creatures have paws, claws and talons which are far away from the complexity and dexterity of human hand. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Parts : </li></ul><ul><li>Human hand comprises of a broad palm with five fingers attached to the forearm by means of a wrist joint.This is an exquisite design, which is not found in any other creatures and is exceedingly complicated in its sleight and movement. </li></ul><ul><li>Bones and joints : </li></ul><ul><li>The human hand has 27 bones in total. </li></ul><ul><li>• 8 bones extending over the wrists.[Arranged in two rows of four].These bones fit into a shallow socket formed by the bones of the forearm. </li></ul><ul><li>• 5 bones contained in the palm. </li></ul><ul><li>• The fingers and bones comprise the digital bone set of 14 bones. </li></ul><ul><li>Nodes are embedded in the tendons to provide extra leverage and reduce pressure on the underlying tissue.The movements of the human hand are accomplished by two sets of each of these tissues. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Covers an area of 22,000 m 2 </li></ul>Proportion in human hand : It is to be noted that your hand is perfect on considering the mathematical aspects behind it. Each section of your index finger, from the tip to the base of the wrist, is larger than the preceding one by about the Fibonacci ratio of 1.618, also fitting the Fibonacci numbers 2, 3, 5 and 8. By the scale above, the fingernail is 1 unit in length. Curiously enough, we have 2 hands, each with 5 digits, and our 8 fingers are each comprised of 3 sections.All are Fibonacci numbers.The ratio of your forearm to your hand is also 1.618, which is commonly called in mathematics as the golden ratio. .

<ul><li>This applies to all of our hands.In short, each human hand is perfected by a static ratio which is fixed, or in other words, the human hand is proportioned in a special way. </li></ul><ul><li>This ratio is applicable for all other parts of the human body. </li></ul><ul><li>Almighty God, who created us informs humanity about this fact in the last divine scripture. </li></ul><ul><li>&quot;He who created you and formed you and proportioned you in whatever way he willed&quot; </li></ul><ul><li>Holy Quran [7:8] </li></ul>

<ul><li>The miracle of finger print : </li></ul><ul><li>A fingerprint is an impression of the friction ridges of all part of the finger.The term fingerprint normally refers to impressions transferred from the pad on the last joint of fingers and thumbs, though fingerprint cards also typically record portions of lower joint areas of the fingers (which are also used to make identifications).This is the technical description of finger prints from Wikipedia. </li></ul><ul><li>Fingerprint impressions fall into three basic types: latent, visible, and the plastic (molded), prints.Fingerprinting is indeed a blessing to investigators. It gives them a practically flawless means of nailing murders, thieves and law abusers. </li></ul><ul><li>Each person who has lived on the earth, who lives in the present and the future generations, each have different fingerprints.Have you wondered about this fact ? <ul><li>Biomimetic design of human hand : </li></ul><ul><li>It is very well known that the human hand is taken as a model by engineers designing multi-purpose aesthetical arm systems. </li></ul>

<ul><li>I hope you might have heard about the advanced robot arm developed by a company called Shadow .I had seen video footages about this robot hand on some channel. </li></ul><ul><li>This is considered as the most advanced human hand ever built by scientists.But, no structure have been built which can completely emulate the entire degrees of freedom of a human hand.This proves the wisdom and might of Almighty Lord who gave hands to each one of us. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Final Notes : </li></ul><ul><li>When we consider all the facts that we’ve seen throughout and utilize the thinking capacity available for each one of use, we’d be able to grasp about the value of this great blessing from Almighty Allah [God] who created and shaped us. </li></ul><ul><li>Each one of us should think and ponder over this fact.Almighty God formed us in our mother’s wombs when we knew nothing and shaped and formed us.Our Lord gave us hands and its colligated features in such a way that it is in favour of our use, ease and comfort. </li></ul><ul><li>It is by virtue of the same hand that I’m typing this post into the website and you’re accessing it by means of your pc which you operate with your hand :) </li></ul>
