  13. 13. Adoption Is On The Rise As The Customer Experience Takes Off • Now customers want e-signatures. • Modernization, mobility, and demographics are pushing esignature adoption. • Compliance can have a positive impact on paper-based processes. • Technology increases the speed of order and cash flow. But Barriers Remain • Overlapping regulatory guidelines. • Documents with a downstream afterlife. • Underestimating complexity. • Confusion about the tools to use. 13 Entire contents © 2010 Forrester Research, Inc. 14. 14. What We Found • Clearly visible efficiencies • Improved customer experience — but still work to do. – Today, the e-signing "ceremony" often involves loading or manipulating a document, entering PINs, or dealing with more advanced techniques for authentication. – Over time the ceremony will get easier. Signing security may require only a key or a token — using global position systems (GPS), IP address, and other artifacts not used today transparently extracted from the process. • Despite headcount and customer experience benefits, some industries still resist efficiencies. 14 Entire contents © 2010 Forrester Research, Inc. 15. 15. What We Found • Embedded solutions work really well for many needs. –The majority of e-signature solutions referenced start with a document set produced from a core system or packaged app. • The e-signature market will focus more on process and less on signing. • Control, governance, and ROI grows with an enterprise approach. 15 Entire contents © 2010 Forrester Research, Inc.
