  2. 2. Definition <ul><li>Leukemia is a type of bone and blood cancer that causes aching in the joints and bones. It’s caused when white blood cells are damaged and begin to act abnormally. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Symptoms <ul><li>Pain in joints and bones </li></ul><ul><li>Swollen lymph nodes in neck and groin area </li></ul><ul><li>Abnormal tired feeling </li></ul><ul><li>Poor appetite </li></ul><ul><li>See chart for others… </li></ul>

Treatment <ul><li>Finding out the age of the patient and their white blood cell count determines the best treatment. </li></ul><ul><li>One of the treatments includes receiving intrathecal Chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is </li></ul><ul><li>a treatment where drugs are injected into </li></ul><ul><li>the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal </li></ul><ul><li>cord. </li></ul>
