Password Management <ul><li>Key-vault is an application where the user can store passwords of various type (like web site, credit card, ...) in a secure way. </li></ul><ul><li>All passwords are encrypted using a single password, the only one the user can't forget. </li></ul><ul><li>All passwords are listed in a table where only a description and the type are visible, if the list is unlocked it is possible to view/modify the passwords. </li></ul>

Basic information about Key-vault <ul><li>One can save any number of passwords. </li></ul><ul><li>One can store any account information like — registration numbers, notes, passwords, and anything that are to be kept privately. </li></ul><ul><li>you can access your account any time, any place, from any computer connected to the Internet. </li></ul><ul><li>Key-vault is secure and doesn’t read private data. </li></ul><ul><li>One can create disposable logins to use when traveling and/or logging in on public or shared computers. </li></ul>

Signing Up <ul><li>Key-vault offers several options for creating your user ID: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Checking the availability </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>using an already existing OpenID </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>using your Google login </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>using your Windows Live login </li></ul></ul><ul><li>A password will be given by the user , which keeps the passwords secret. </li></ul>

Getting Started <ul><li>Once the user logs in, the Home page will be displayed by default. </li></ul><ul><li>The information about one’s account , entries he/she has saved, confirmation of email address, and features enabled. </li></ul><ul><li>To access passwords or to begin adding passwords, click on the Passwords tab. </li></ul>

Saving Passwords <ul><li>Just click on the Add button! or “Click to add a password.”  A form will open to fill in, asking for: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Title (used to list the accounts, for example: Bank , Railways , etc) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>User ID ( username for the site he/she is saving) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Email (the email address associated with that site) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Password (the password for that site - Key-vault will generate secure passwords) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Link (the URL for that site) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Tags (keywords he/she wants to use to access this site) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Notes (any additional info about this login he/she would like to save) </li></ul></ul>
  9. 9. The Passwords Page <ul><li>Alphabetical listing of passwords. </li></ul><ul><li>Search options: </li></ul><ul><li>- by keyword </li></ul><ul><li>- by tags </li></ul><ul><li>-from the list of favorites for quick access. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Changing Some Settings <ul><li>Once the account has been set , this is where he/she would change </li></ul><ul><li>-user ID </li></ul><ul><li>-Password </li></ul><ul><li>- or even delete his/her account. </li></ul>

Packing and Saving <ul><li>He/she can decide how long the account to remain open if left inactive. </li></ul><ul><li>For example, if you are using Key-vault but then walk away from your computer, how long would you want your account to remain open and visible before locking up? </li></ul><ul><li>Save options: </li></ul><ul><li>-Manual </li></ul><ul><li>-Automatic </li></ul>
  12. 12. Startup Options <ul><li>Home is the default, but he/she can prefer going right to Passwords to save time. </li></ul><ul><li>Select an option for what Key-vault should do next. I recommend “Unpack everything - then turn on 1 Click Login.” </li></ul>
  13. 13. Logout <ul><li>The Lock it up! button will lock the account, but keeps Key-vault open so he/she can login quickly when he/she returns. </li></ul><ul><li>If he/she is done using the Key-vault, one should be sure to Logout . </li></ul>
