International Presences:
Industrial Visit
• An Industrial visit gives awareness about how an industry actually
works.
• Omega has basically the following sections:
1) Research & Development
2) Equipment Testing
3) Soldering and Desoldering
4) Winding section
5) Paint section
About the Training:
• Organisation name: Omega Electronics
• The Training place located in Malviya Nagar RIICO Industrial Area, Jaipur
(Rajasthan).
• The Company offered a training programme of 30 days (02june’14-02july’14).
• The Reporting Officer was Mr Ravindra Gautam.
• The training period covered majorly 4 sections:
1) Introduction to Basic Electronics
2) PCB Designing and fabrication Process
3) Introduction to Robotics
4) Introduction to Embedded systems
1)Basic Electronics:
• The theory of basic electronic device includes introduction of
1) Electronic devices,
2) Components,
3) Circuits,
4) Working,
5) Characteristics,
6) Assembling
7) Applications
8)Advancements and future aspects
Basic Electronics
• Power Supply Designing:
A power supply is a device that supplies electric power to an electric
load.
Basic Electronics
• Clipper and Clamper Circuits:
Basic Electronics
• Introduction to Digital Electronics:
Digital Electronics is the most widely used in each and every device
due to certain advantages.
• Logic Gates:
In electronics, a logic gate is a physical device implementing a Boolean
function
7 segment display
• A seven-segment display (SSD), or seven-segment indicator, is a form
of electronic display device for displaying decimal numerals that is an
alternative to the more complex dot matrix displays.
• Seven-segment displays are widely used in digital clocks, electronic
meters, and other electronic devices for displaying numerical
information.

2)PCB Designing and fabrication
Process:
• Soldering is an essential part of PCB Fabrication.
• Soldering is a process in which two or more metal items are joined
together by melting and flowing a filler metal (solder) into the joint,
the filler metal having a lower melting point than the adjoining metal.
Surface Mount Technique:-
Surface mount technology (SMT) is a method for constructing
electronic circuits in which the components (SMC, or Surface
Mounted Components) are mounted directly onto the surface
of printed circuit board (PCBs).
Electronic devices so made are called surface mount devices
or SMDs.
 In the industry it has largely replaced the through hole
technology construction method of fitting components with wire
leads into holes in the circuit board.
16
SMT Mounting:-
• Temperature of the soldering tip about 600 oF.
• To mounting of the components into position we are use Duco
cement.
3)Introduction of Robotics:
What is Robotics:
• -It is a field of Engineering that covers the mimicking of
human behavior.
• -Robotics includes the knowledge of Mechanical,
Electronics, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering.
Why Robotics:
• -Speed.
• -It can work hazardous/dangerous environment.
• -To perform repetitive task.
• -Efficiency
• -Accuracy
• -Adaptability
Types of Robots:
• -Wheeled
• -Legged
• -Climbing
• -Flying
Power Supply:
• -Suitable power supply is needed to run the motors and
associated circuitry
• -Typical power requirement ranges from 3V to 24V DC
• 220V AC supply must be modified to suit the needs of our
machine
• -Batteries can also be used to run robots
• -Robots are driven by different motors :-
oDC Motors
oStepper Motors
oServo Motors
DC Motor:
o -As the name suggests, a motor which uses
a DC (Direct Current) power.
o -Can run in both direction Speed
Controllable.
Stepper Motor:
o-Used for measured rotation
o-Can be held at a particular position
of the shaft
o-Ideal for many autonomous robots
requiring higher precision
Servo Motor:
o -Used in closed loop control
systems in which work is the
control variable.
o -An integral feedback device
(resolver) or devices
(encoder and tachometer)
are either incorporated within
the servo motor or are
remotely mounted, often on
the load itself
Differential Drive:
Ackerman Drive:
Synchronous Drive:
Advantage:
• -Revolution in Medical science and Health care systems.
• -New & wide scope in Education & Training.
• -A good help in Nuclear industry.
• -Used tremendously in Sports activities.
• -Play the role of an efficient assistance in Research and Development
sciences.
• -Can very well handle household business.
