  2. 2. Technology Use <ul><li>Technology use is applying technology programs and devices to education. This allows students to use technology that they are familiar with while learning. The more the program(s) or device(s) is utilized, then students become more efficient at it. </li></ul><ul><li>Technology use allows students’ knowledge of technology to become more evolved. Frequent use of technology creates an opportunity for a deeper understanding of it. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Technology Integration <ul><li>Technology integration is combining instruction and technology to support student learning. It helps students develop a stronger meaning of what is being taught. A technology program(s) or device(s) is used as a resource that encourages students to make learning more meaningful. </li></ul><ul><li>Technology integration provides opportunity for students to engage in learning. It guides them to connect meaning and comprehend new knowledge. </li></ul>

Is There a Difference? <ul><li>Yes, there is a difference between technology use and technology integration. </li></ul><ul><li>-Technology use strengthens one’s understanding and performance of technology. </li></ul><ul><li>-Technology integration enhances students’ understanding by allowing them to learn new knowledge with technology. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Technology Use AND Technology Integration <ul><li>While use and integration are defined differently, they often occur simultaneously. Integrating technology while teaching helps students learn new academic content and information. It creates opportunity and connections to make learning more meaningful and useful. And, it also offers time and practice for students to become more apt with the technology device(s) that is being integrated. </li></ul>
