UNDERSTAND  What are the things that the locker will be holding?  For how many years the locker should be there before there is a need of replacement?  Understand the lockers working condition. Certainly, high-school lockers have a harsh life!!  Get to know about the schools and student demand.
  4. 4. OBSERVE  Observe the previous lockers of the school, and check for defects.  Observe the way of application of the lockers.  Observe the demand variation for various class students.
  5. 5. DEFINE  Define what are the features that is required by the students.  Define the problems that were previously faced in the lockers used so far.  Define the classification of students on basis of applicability of lockers.
  6. 6. IDEATE  Brain storm to get solutions to the previous problems.  Provide the right lockers with the right numbers of selves and columns to the right group of students.  Choose best material for a longer life and less wear of the lockers.
  7. 7. PROTOTYPE  Create a prototype of the locker keeping the aforementioned point.  Get feedback from teachers and students.  Do the necessary changes to the prototype as per the feedback.
  8. 8. TESTING  Once the prototype is forwarded by various authorities, go for testing.  Allow the locker to pass through many duty- cycles, higher than the actual one just for some higher factor of safety.  Study about the various results and do the requisite changes.  Beside safety, check the lockers for security too.  It is an iterative process unless and until the final locker is obtained, best in all respect.
