SIXTH SENSE TECHNOLOGY

  1. 1. SIXTH SENSE TECHNOLOGY “Now you can wear your world” BY- SHIVANSH SHAH 1043110051 B tech (CS) 3RD YR
  2. 2. CONTENTS Introduction. About the inventor. Why only sixth sense. Hardware Components. Working Mechanism. Features. Advantages.
  3. 3. THE INVENTOR PRANAV MISTRY  “ Sixth Sense Technology ” was invented by “ PRANAV MISTRY”., .  He is a PhD candidate at “MIT LABS” .  His research on sixth sense was awarded the 2009 invention award by POPULAR SCIENCE .  He has also invented MOUSELESS ,SPARSH etc.
  4. 4. INTRODUCTION"You see things and you say why? But I dream things that never were and Isay ,“Why not?," once said George .The same philosophy has been driving Pranav Mistry, the Indian technology wizard behind Six Sense Technology. Sixth Sense is a “wearable gestural interface” that breaks the conventional model of accessing the digital information via electronic devices such as mobile phones and computers. The technology allows users to be part of the physical world and stillaccess digital information existing on the World Wide Web by using natural hand gestures to interact with that info.
  5. 5. The Sixth Sense
  6. 6. WHY SIXTH SENSE ONLY We use our five natural senses to perceive information around us; that information helps us make decisions. But arguably the most useful information that can help us make the right decision is not naturally perceivable with our five senses . The computing devices allows us to carry computers in our pockets, keeping us continually connected to the digital world. There is no link between digital devices and our interactions with physical world. Sixth Sense bridges this gap, allowing us to interact with this information via natural hand gestures.
  7. 7. HARDWARE COMPONENTS The Sixth Sense interface is a combinationof a very simple hardware component andthese are:- CAMERA MICROPHONE PROJECTOR MIRROR COLOR MAKERS INTERNET ENABLED MOBILE SENSORS
  8. 8. WORKING MECHANISM.
  9. 9. FEATURES OF SIXTH SENSE TECH..  Make a Phone Call .  Zoom in & out . .  Snap a Picture . .  Picture Editing .  Scan A Book .  Recognize identity of a person.  Project a Analog Clock , Etc.
  10. 10. Make Phone Call  A person is required to touch digital keys on one’s palm or whichever surface he decides to project and Dial the number and make a call. Snap a Picture If we use the index finger and thumbof both the hands to form a rectangle(“framing gesture”),the system willsnap a photo. We can project themon a surface .
  11. 11. SCAN A BOOKIf a book is projected infront ofthe projector then , It can scan abook and it can present detailedreviews and even summaries ofthat same book. DRAW IMAGES One can also draw differentimages on any surface by themovement of index finger which istracked by the device .
  12. 12. CREATE DOCUMENT This will help a user to create adocument by taking part fromvarious places and then print thatdocument. ZOOM IN & OUTA person can zoom in orzoom out using intutive handmovements.
  13. 13. ADVANTAGES Portable. Cost effective. It is open source. Supports multi-touch and multi-user interaction. Bridges the gap batween real world and information.
