  4. 4. Definition: Cirrhosis DEFINITION: Cirrhosis of the liver is the term applied to chronic diseases of the liver, characterised by diffused inflammation and fibrosis resulting in drastic structural changes and significant loss of liver function.
  5. 5. ETIOLOGY  Alcohol abuse  Hepatitis( A,B,C)  Use of drugs  Hepatic congestion from severe right sided heart failure  Constrictive pericarditis  Valvular diseases  Wilsons diseases  Infiltrative diseases( amyloidosis, glycogen storage diseases,haemochromatosis)
