An optical mouse uses devices that emit and sense light to detect the mouse's movement A cordless mouse transmits data using wireless technology such as radio waves or infrared light waves TRACK BALL A trackball is a pointing device consisting of a ball housed in a socket containing sensors to detect rotation of the ball.
  3. 3. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INPUT DEVICES Shenel McCarthy KEYBOARD A keyboard contains keys that allow a user to enter data and instructions into the computer. SCANNER A scanner is a light-sensing input device that converts printed text & graphics into a digital form that can be processed by the computer.
