If so, he will notify you it is approved. Approval can take from 2 to 5 days. If you include an email address, notice of approval will be emailed upon completion. </li></ul></ul></ul>

  29. 29. <ul><li>Processing Eagle Application </li></ul><ul><li>When application is complete with all necessary signatures obtained, the unit will submit the Eagle application, Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Workbook, supporting documents and sealed reference letters to Watkins Scout Service Center for review of Merit Badge dates etc., with a filled out Advancement report, with the date left blank. </li></ul>
  30. 30. <ul><li>Processing Eagle Application </li></ul><ul><ul><li>When the Service Center is finished reviewing the Eagle application for correct Merit Badge dates etc., the application and workbook will be forwarded to the District Eagle Board of Review Chair. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Board Of Review </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Once the District Eagle Board of Review Chair has the application and the workbook he will in turn set up the Eagle Board of Review date. </li></ul></ul>Trail to Eagle

Who Can Not serve as members of the Eagle Board of Review? <ul><ul><li>Members of the candidate's family or relative, Scoutmasters or assistants. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Scoutmasters introduce the candidate to the board and may remain to answer questions on a point in question. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In no case should a relative or guardian of the candidate attend the review, even as unit leader. </li></ul></ul>
  33. 33. <ul><li>Board of Review (cont’d) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>How long should the Eagle Board take ? 30 to 45 minutes. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The review members have to be unanimous to recommend the Eagle </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Candidate to National for approval. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Candidate is not an Eagle scout until National approves the application. Some times they reject . </li></ul></ul>
  34. 34. <ul><li>Post Board Of Review Paperwork </li></ul><ul><ul><li>District Eagle Board of Review Chair will review and sign the Eagle Application. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The District Eagle Board of Review Chair will send packet to the Watkins Scout Service Center </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Scout Executive will sign application and it will be forwarded to National. </li></ul></ul>Trail to Eagle
  35. 35. <ul><li>Post Board of Review Processing </li></ul><ul><li>It takes six to eight weeks to receive word from National if Eagle Rank is approved or not. </li></ul><ul><li>Express processing </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The Scout or concerned party can make out a check to National Boy Scouts of America for $40.00. (Verify fee with council before writing check). This check and application will then be Fed-Xed overnight to National. Response time is 5-10 working days </li></ul></ul>Trail to Eagle
