  2. 2. When we talk about Digital Citizenship &/or Digiteen we are talking about the fact of how to use the internet in a good way that we don’t misuse it or abuse others by taking an advantage of internet. Digital citizenship has 9 main rules, which if you follow you will be the perfect digital citizen. These days we use Internet in our everyday lifetime. We use Internet from the minute we wake up when we check our emails and see the news till we head to bed. In the modern days every single school uses technology to stop cutting down trees and start using the technology we have by posting up the tasks on the web so we don’t have to print them on papers and cutting down trees and that is one advantage of using the internet.
  3. 3. Internet is a really useful tool for us students as well as teachers and technology users. As internet could be use a useful advantage it could be really harmful in many different ways, for example many different countries have most of the websites blocked because its either inappropriate or it has been detected with virus and that’s one advantage of having filter blocks which blocks the website so everyone is safe and one disadvantage because people could upload many harmful stuff in the internet such as how to find drugs in a specific country or how to even make drugs, pornography etc. This year in IT we are trying to tell the people around us how technology could be useful and harmful at times, and indeed for us to become a good digital citizenship we should always obey the 9 rules.
  4. 4. These 9 Rules Are: • Digital Access • Digital Commerce • Digital Communication o Digital access is having access to technology o Digital commerce is buying and selling of o Digital communication as you all know is and not only internet but also phones, video products online by using the internet. 5. 5. As you see the nine rules of digital citizenship above, they all have a meaning to them. In my case we are talking about digital rights and responsibilities. Lets give some examples of rights and responsibilities and digital citizenship. EG 1) Stealing other people’s usernames and passwords. And using them in inappropriate ways for example sending bad emails to other people and then blaming it on the actual person who owns that email and then that person has to get in trouble for it, even though he/she didn’t do anything. Another example would be cyber-bullying, This is a particular area where people recently are finding themselves in trouble, it means what we can and can't use online an how we can use it without effecting others online in a negative way. This will include, pictures, documents, videos, and many other forms of personal items.
  6. 6. As you can see on the graph to the left, there are many types of cyber- bullying such as threatening, making of on, piking on, and scared for safety ETC.
