Sculpture For The Hospitality Industry Ver 2

 1. 1. Sculpture for the Hospitality Industry

Hello, I am Scott Harriman, founder of Medano Trading Inc.

Medano Trading is a small marketing and sales organization with several clients and today, we are going to talk about one of our most promising and exciting new ventures.

We represent an established sculptor who is ready to ramp his work to the next levels in volume and in artistry.

 2. 2. The Artist

Goran is an Eastern-European born, well travelled, Canadian trained sculptor who has resided in British Columbia, Canada for a number of years. He is currently creating fantastic classical and custom sculptures, from the breathtakingly monumental to the exquisitely miniature.

 3. 3. The Artist – part II

One of Goran’s specialties is Northwest Coast Native Art, and has worked in the studios of Bill Reid and Robert Davidson. From there, he has designed and produced many collections of Haida, Kwakiutl, Salish and other West Coast Styles, from small pewter giftware to miniature cast stone totem poles.

 4. 4. The Artist – part III

Goran is unrestrained to any particular media. He is able to model in base media such as clay, or carve in many different materials such as wood, epoxy resins and Styrofoam, which allows him to create base molds for casting limited or open edition collections. He is capable of producing ceramic, latex, urethane, silicone, pewter casting and roto-casting molds. From this can be cast resin, 2 part foam, cold bronze casting, hydrostone, plaster and pewter. Full bronze casting preparation can be done, and he is intending to add full bronze casting capacity.

 5. 5. What does this mean to you?

The studio is being relocated to an emerging economy, close to skilled artists, semi-skilled labor and an abundant supply of high quality raw materials, capable of producing and reproducing accurate representations of Goran’s designs.

This will dramatically increase the scale of commissions he is able to undertake and with his close supervision of the on-site production of the works will ensure that quality control is of the highest quality.

 6. 6.

Your project is not limited to the Northwest Coast Native Art shown so far, as this may not be suitable for your design plan, but the next slides will illustrate the dramatic range of styles that Goran has produced in the past, from the extremely detailed and serious to the whimsical and playful.

Please enjoy this small selection.

 7. 7. Full sized Human figure

One of Goran’s earlier works, replicating the human form – full sized.

 8. 8. Human Form - spiritual

This sculpture of Ste. Therese is almost life – sized.

There are examples of wall tiles in the background.

The sculpture can be scaled by observing the outlet to the right of Ste. Therese.

 9. 9. Human Form - spiritual

This crucifix was commissioned as a commemorative gift to some parishioners.

The original was carved at about 10-12” high, molds were produced and shrunk to different sizes with no loss of detail. A production process was set up to mass produce these resin statues in various sizes.

 10. 10. Wall tiles and plaques

These tiles serve as the base for inspirational messages which are laser-etched onto the finished tile.

The detail is very crisp, such that the thorn on the rose can almost prick your finger.

Repetitive tiles, such as these, could serve as directional signage, room identification etc. The design could be a corporate or project logo or other design.

 11. 11. Garden and Patio

These planters are wonderful additions to a patio or garden area. These are the originals, molds are made from them to replicate the design over and over – flawlessly.

 12. 12. Wall panels

Wall panel in relief

 13. 13. Architectural

This gargoyle could be an interesting addition to any building. The photo on the right is the hand detail of the figure.

 14. 14. Architectural

Columns such as these are possible in granite, marble or other materials.

 15. 15. Whimsical
 16. 16. Whimsical

These children’s play structures are constructed from a 2 part foam and cushion impact far better than a hard resin material.

Consider these for restaurant themes, theme / water parks, play areas in malls.

Goran’s molding technique ensures crisp lines and detail, quick turnaround and lower costs.
