How does your media product represent particular social groups? My music magazine is targeted at all fans of indie and rock music. It is also targeted at teenagers as my product uses ‘slang’ language. I believe that I have managed to meet this target as I have dressed my model on my front cover in clothing that is considered ‘indie’. I also put cover lines of popular indie and rock bands on the front cover which grabs the target audiences attention.
The results of my audience questionnaire showed that red was a very popular colour therefore I used this as one of my main colours for my colour scheme along with white and black. My magazine represents the indie and rock social group as it uses language that people would use that enjoy indie and rock music like swear words and slang words used to describe different aspects of these types of music.
When studying different rock and indie magazines I noticed that most of the mastheads and cover lines where bold and clear and easy to read. They also stood out on the page. I realised this is what y target audiences wanted therefore made my magazine stand out so that the rock and indie target audience would want to read the magazine.
