  3. 3.  Hardware refers to any part of the computer that you can touch, such as the monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. Hardware devices are used to control the computer’s input and output.
  4. 4.  Software refers to the set of instructions that tells the computer what to do and how to do it. Software consists of complex codes known as programs. Without software, the hardware is useless. Word processing, database, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing are some of the common software.
  5. 5.  People, also known as users, operate the computer hardware. They create and use the computer software. They enter the data into and use the information generated by the computer system.  Data are raw facts. They can be in the form of letter, numbers, sounds, and pictures.
