  2. 2. WHAT IS AN INDUCTOR?  A passive electronic component that stores energy in the form of a magnetic field.  Consists of a wire loop or coil.
  3. 3.  Used to store such amount of current which is flowing in the circuit & later releases the electrical energy to the circuit when the source of power is removed FUNCTION OF AN INDUCTOR:

As the electric current produces a concentrated magnetic field around the coil, this field flux equates to a storage of energy representing the kinetic motion of the electrons through the coil.
