About Me <ul><li>What I Do? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Student worker for the IPTAY Scholarship Foundation at Clemson University </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I work for the Tiger Letterwinners Association as well as the IPTAY Representative Program </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>What I am interested in learning about? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>How to better improve my performance and the performance of others that I work with </li></ul></ul><ul><li>About my topic </li></ul><ul><ul><li>I chose to study benchmarking because it is something that I felt never gets utilized at IPTAY </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>It relates to my own development because I believe that it will help me give me new ideas on how to make my programs more successful </li></ul></ul>

Previous Literature <ul><li>What have others done/said about my project? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Thousands of businesses around the world utilize benchmarking as a way to improve their organizations production and performance </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Where did I search for information? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>My research included: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Utilizing journal articles that I obtained off of the Clemson University website </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Interviewing people that I contacted for benchmarking </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Internet sites </li></ul></ul></ul>

State’s extra incentive idea and Tennessee’s priority point system could help the IPTAY Rep Program The organization works with upper management in order to prioritize recommendations and agree on an implementation strategy Act Phase <ul><li>Key information obtained: </li></ul><ul><li>Tennessee’s priority point incentive program </li></ul><ul><li>N.C. State’s extra incentive per new donor brought in idea </li></ul>The benchmarking team assimilates the best-practices information it has developed and prepares this information and corresponding improvement recommendations for upper management to review Assimilate Phase We contacted and gained information from the following schools that had similar representative programs: University of North Carolina, University of Tennessee North Carolina State University The team reaches out to understand its own and other organizations’ processes Reach-Out Phase In order to organize the benchmarking project, we decided that we would contact other NCAA schools in order to see how they operate their representative programs Management organizes the project to ensure a clear project focus Organize Phase <ul><li>Management felt that the program could benefit the most by: </li></ul><ul><li>Improving motivation incentives given to the IPTAY Representatives </li></ul><ul><li>Improve the number of new donors brought in each year </li></ul>Management decides what improvement opportunity areas have the greatest impact or potential for the organization Launch Phase Implementation Phase Description Phase
