  2. 2. Hi! My name is Marsha Microwave! I’ve noticed when I’m heating up stuff that some foods absorb the microwave energy I give out better than others. I can’t work out where I’m going wrong. Here are some thoughts I’ve had… If solid foods like baked potatoes are made up of tightly packed atoms, how come they heat up in the microwave? Why do people say I give out NON-IONIZING RADIATION? What does that mean? Why do people say that microwave cooking is energy-efficient? How can the heating effect of a microwave be controlled?
