Globally, the World Bank estimates 232 million international migrants remitted $550 billion in 2013, which is expected to rise to over $700 billion by 2016. One convenient way for them to remit small values is to convert money into airtime which is then used to top up the pre-paid phone accounts of their family and friends in their home country.
Novatti’s International Top-up solution enables trans-global mobile operators or specialist top-up service providers to offer their customers a convenient way to purchase and send airtime to any country. Our ‘white label’ portal enables you to market your own branded services to any of your multiple target markets.
How It Works
The International Top-up Operator purchases airtime from international mobile operators at a wholesale or discounted rate. This airtime can then be sold directly, or as prepaid vouchers
Retail
Retail distribution channels purchase airtime from the International Top-up operator
Retail customers simply specify the prepaid mobile number and amount they wish to top up
After collecting the corresponding amount plus a service fee at the point of sale, the retailer processes the payment, transferring funds to the recipient’s prepaid balance within seconds
The recipient is immediately notified via SMS and has access to the top up amount
The customer purchases an international top-up voucher online or from a vending machine. Payment can be made via a credit card, bank account or alternative payment methods such as PayPal™
The customer then redeems the voucher online, with the voucher’s airtime value being credited to the recipient’s prepaid account
The recipient is immediately notified by SMS that their account has been credited with the top-up amount
