The test <ul><li>Using web 2.0 applications and search engines to get hits </li></ul><ul><li>Hits include tags, blogs, wikis, websites, slideshows and other online content that refers to or links to the 2007 Horizon Report </li></ul><ul><li>Limiting factors include minimizing content by New Media Consortium, Educause Technology Initiative, and advisory board members </li></ul>

  6. 6. What was found <ul><li>Most of the hits from all of the search ended up being education related </li></ul><ul><li>Most popular was blogs and wikis as well as tags </li></ul><ul><li>Many either just linked the report or used it to validate their belief or rant for blogs or wikis </li></ul>
  7. 7. What it was used for <ul><li>Tagging is participating in social networking </li></ul><ul><li>Blog and wiki content the report was used to validate information or to build strong support </li></ul><ul><li>It was also used to inform and prepare individuals as well as groups </li></ul>
  8. 8. Education and Business <ul><li>A majority of the hits were education related due to the fact that the report is geared for education </li></ul><ul><li>There were some business related hits </li></ul>

Content of hits <ul><li>Blogs and wikis found included different types of content </li></ul><ul><li>Primarily content was impressively about virtual worlds and massive multiplayer educational games </li></ul><ul><li>Many advocates were impressed with those two ideas making the list </li></ul><ul><li>The other content was just general education about the report and what it contained </li></ul>
