  2. 2. What is Diigo and how do you find it?<br />It’s a Social Bookmarking Site 2.0 <br />Go to www.Diigo.com or simply googleDiigo<br />Highlight portions of web pages that catch your eye. Add notes on websites(like post its!)<br />Bookmark favorite websites which will allow you to search/organize<br />

Why you should use it!<br />Research tool and a knowledge sharing community (Share with your own friends or meet people with the same interests as you)<br />In Class – useful for research papers and communicating with classmates<br />Out of Class – Social Networking (like Twitter/Facebook ; ) enable more significant social connections and academic exchanges<br />Easy to access and organize your favorite bookmarks of websites. <br />Add tags to organize bookmarks<br />And it’s FREE!!!!<br />

No software needed<br />Compatible with Firefox, Flock, Internet Explorer<br />Two different tools to use Diigo<br />Diigo Toolbar<br />More efficient in accessing Diigo features<br />Diigolet<br />Does not offer as much as the toolbar. But no download or installation is needed. <br />Allows you to highlight and add sticky-notes, in addition to simple bookmarking.<br />

Who can see it?<br />Profile<br />You can choose to :<br />Allow anyone to see you in people search listing<br />Allow your public profile to be indexed by external search engines<br />Allow others to see that I&apos;ve visited their profiles<br />Share my private bookmarks in &quot;Common Stuff&quot; with No One/Any of My Friends/or Any Diigo users<br />Sticky Notes aka Post Its<br />Option of making it Private or Public<br />People can comment on it<br />
