Lumen’s Faculty Roundtable sessions allow us to bring faculty together who have already adopted Lumen-supported OER courses with those who are still exploring this path. For our Roundtable discussion on October 23th, 2017, we had the opportunity to speak with Katherine Cameron of Coppin State University and Julie Lazzara of Maricopa Community College, both Professors of Psychology and champions of the OER movement for Psychology courses.

Method: Quasi-experimental design with: Propensity Score Matching, Post Test Only. Dependent variables: Completion; C or Better; Credits Enrolled This Term; Next Term, Independent variable: Textbook condition, 3 covariates: including age, gender, and race. 8% reduction in drops and W’s 4% increase in passing rates 18% more credits this term 22% more credits next term OER Courses Traditional Courses

Analysis compared students’ final grades in sections using Waymaker Introduction to Business vs. those using commercial publisher or OER alternatives.
