  2. 2. Purpose To serve as a practical guidance tool for producing vital statistics reports (VSR) based on data from civil registration systems.

  4. 4. Regional trainings Goal: Develop and publish national vital statistics reports. Where possible based on CR records. Who: National experts from • CR • NSO • MoH/MoJ etc Partners include: ESCAP, ECA, UNSD, UNFPA, Plan International, Bloomberg D4H and Statistics Norway
  5. 5. Regional trainings Set up: • National teams selected • Two workshops • Requires: • Cleaned data ahead of workshop • Establishment of inter-agency working group • Continuous work with focal points • Published report
  6. 6. Key elements • Sharing data and experience among core agencies • Assess coverage and completeness • Analysing the data and produce key indicators and statistics • Share experience and learn from each other

Results and further plans • Final template and guideline very soon available • Most of the participating countries in Asia have finalized and published reports • Countries in Africa are currently preparing drafts • More trainings – For new countries – With more focus on disseminating for different user groups
