Talent Awards 2017 Winner's Work

  1. 1. DESIGN FINALIST - STEPHEN O’NEILL (UK)
  2. 2. DESIGN FINALIST - STEPHEN O’NEILL (UK) “I really love this idea, it’s very smart and one that I wish actually ran. If only The Economist would be that brave. For me this is a big idea and I would have loved to see how it would work across other medias.”
  3. 3. DESIGN FINALIST - CHIRAG GROVER (UK)
  4. 4. DESIGN FINALIST - CHIRAG GROVER (UK) “This is a really nice example of taking something and giving a modern twist. These briefs are always tricky as you don’t want to take away from its heritage, Chirag has done a nice job in bringing the two together. The logo along with the visual style compliments this family’s aristocracy.”
  5. 5. DESIGN WINNER - LAURA DEN OTTER (NL)
  6. 6. DESIGN WINNER - LAURA DEN OTTER (NL) “I really like the way Laura collaborated with the client to bring their dream to life. Logo design is always hard as you need to ensure that it can stand alone, Laura has created a simple and honest logo that does this. From this simplicity to the branding and packaging she has created a very strong brand which is appropriate for the target market.”
  7. 7. CONTENT & COPYWRITING FINALIST - STEPHANIE STEPAN (NL)
  8. 8. CONTENT & COPYWRITING FINALIST - STEPHANIE STEPAN (NL) “OMG, this is a huge content & copywriting job! Moreover, a very useful one. It creates brand utility and increases the brand value from a consumer perspective. The copywriter Dad I am could not be insensitive to this remarkable production. Stephanie, you are not only a copywriter. You are an engineer, able to build bridges between brands and people.”
  9. 9. CONTENT & COPYWRITING FINALIST - JAMES STEDMAN (UK)
  10. 10. CONTENT & COPYWRITING FINALIST - JAMES STEDMAN (UK) “Print is not dead! Thanks to a smart use of it, i.e. with the ambition to think about the social media impact from the beginning, James shows us it still can be a very efficient media. The copywriting is just pure, straight to the point and fun at the same time. Great job!”
  11. 11. CONTENT & COPYWRITING WINNER - ALEIX BOU LOPEZ (NL)
  12. 12. CONTENT & COPYWRITING WINNER - ALEIX BOU LOPEZ (NL) “Producing such a brilliant job surely was a big challenge. In my opinion, only Dove had succeeded in establishing a strong disruption in the skincare industry before, thanks to another powerful insight. This campaign could easily win other local & international awards this year. Congratulations Aleix and thank you: it is always a pleasure to discover a new masterpiece.”
  13. 13. UX FINALIST - ORIOL CAMACHO (UK)
  14. 14. UX FINALIST - ORIOL CAMACHO (UK) “The Obi app provides great visualisation about personal energy information. Visualising this type of information provides people with a highly meaningful and personal experience about an important factor of their lives which often gets overlooked or avoided. In UX design, visualisation of data is very important and it’s an area that can and will only grow. Top job Oriol! A very nicely designed experience that provides a lot of value!”
  15. 15. UX FINALIST - JENNY SHEN (NL)
  16. 16. UX FINALIST - JENNY SHEN (NL) “One of the key benefits of the web is it supports social behaviour, specifically sharing. Kinnektid puts potential teachers and students together so they can have a conversation. The idea that everyone has a skill is brilliant and the app embodies that. This is a great use of how people behave socially. Well done Jenny. Loved the concept. Loved the design.”
  17. 17. UX WINNER - DAN VARNS (UK)
  18. 18. UX WINNER - DAN VARNS (UK) “I like the way the design has been considered as an end-to-end customer journey including payment for gigs. The app is a ‘one stop shop’ for completing gigs and brings what is often a lot of individual strands of gig together (the job requirements; contact information and communication; payment etc) into a single experience. I think there is massive potential for such a system. Well done Dan on bringing a great design experience to life and covering the whole customer journey!”
  19. 19. MOTION DESIGN FINALIST - JEROEN ZIJLSTRA (NL)
  20. 20. MOTION DESIGN FINALIST - JEROEN ZIJLSTRA (NL) “Jeroen created a strangely beautiful piece of work that made something that could be seen as boring and technical look really dynamic and interesting. The animation really explained clearly how the kite surfing belt worked and what it’s benefits were – even to a completely non-sporty person.”
  21. 21. MOTION DESIGN FINALIST - OLIVER KEANE (UK)
  22. 22. MOTION DESIGN FINALIST - OLIVER KEANE (UK) “Great work from Oliver for his Gamma Ray. I love the idea that he was motivated by drinking it and felt inspired to animate how it made him feel – the look and feel of the animation felt really appropriate for the brand.”
  23. 23. MOTION DESIGN WINNER - KERRY MURPHY (NL)
  24. 24. MOTION DESIGN WINNER - KERRY MURPHY (NL) “Kerry’s animation was clever, elegant and I loved the attention to detail. It gave the viewer an incredibly satisfying experience – managing to convey the feeling of being both complex and simple at the same time. Much like the creative industry he was targeting. In this way I think he answered his client’s brief impeccably.”
  25. 25. ILLUSTRATION FINALIST - ALICIA HERNANDEZ (UK)
  26. 26. ILLUSTRATION FINALIST - ALICIA HERNANDEZ (UK) “I think Alicia's submission was very fresh in its colours and ingredients. Her style stood out and conveyed optimism, fun and happiness. The use of collage brought tactility and Californian vintage vibes to the piece. Would work great on products (t-shirts, bags, skateboards)!”
  27. 27. ILLUSTRATION FINALIST - THOMAS LESSELIERS (UK)
  28. 28. ILLUSTRATION FINALIST - THOMAS LESSELIERS (UK) “Thomas Lesseliers' minimalist style shows a beautiful use of colour, shape and composition, both trendy and mature in style.”
  29. 29. ILLUSTRATION WINNER - BÉATRICE MENUEL (FR)
  30. 30. ILLUSTRATION WINNER - BÉATRICE MENUEL (FR) “I really liked this illustration series for several reasons. Taking on a traditional japanese style and remixing it with psychedelic colors and compositions brings a new twist to the illustrations. The colors are vibrant and have a nice tonality, the compositions are dynamic through the use of distorted perspectives. Subtle use of dot and line textures add to the complexity and depth of the general feel. Basically there is a nice mix of eastern and western styles giving a fresh look to this series. Well done Béatrice.”
  31. 31. OVERALL UK WINNER - CHIRAG GROVER
  32. 32. OVERALL FR WINNER - SAMUEL NAKACHE
  33. 33. OVERALL NL WINNER - JENNY SHEN
