The second day dives deeper into Facebook and Instagram and teaches you how to establish an account and utilize these social media platforms to stay social, keep in touch with long distance friends and enjoy posting fun and creative photos.

Network Description Facebook Facebook is a social networking website where users can post comments, share photographs and post links to news or other interesting content on the web, chat live, and watch short- video. You can even order food on Facebook if that's what you want to do. Shared content be made publicly accessible, or it can be shared only among a select group of friends or or with a single person. Instagram Instagram is a social networking app made for sharing photos and videos from a There is no associated website. Snapchat Snapchat is a popular messaging app that lets users exchange pictures and videos (called snaps) that are meant to disappear after they're viewed. It's advertised as a "new type of camera" because the essential function is to take a picture or video, add filters, lenses or effects and share them with friends. Twitter Twitter is an online news and social networking site where people communicate in short messages called tweets. Tweeting is posting short messages for anyone who follows you on Twitter, with the hope that your messages are useful and interesting to someone in your audience.

These videos can also be embedded and shared on other sites. Reddit the “front page of the internet,” a massive collection of forums, where people can share news and content or comment on other people’s posts Pinterest Pinterest is a social network where people can find inspiration and ideas for their interests and hobbies. Every idea is represented by a Pin, which is an image that is searched and saved by Pinterest users. Pins can also link back to websites Tumblr Tumblr is a network of millions of user-generated, personal Web sites. It's part blogging platform and part social networking service, letting users create and post their own original content. LinkedIn LinkedIn is an online social network for business professionals. It's different than other social networking sites because it's designed specifically for professional networking -- finding a job, discovering sales leads, connecting with potential business partners.

CAUTION- PRIVACY!  Use tight privacy settings on your initial setup  Before “friending” teen family members, make sure your approach is welcome.  Wait a while before clicking on links or attachments included on posts from friends. links can contain viruses, be damaging to your computer or even result in identity theft.  Exercise caution when naming family members in stories or tagging them in pictures you post on social media.  Never send personal or financial information (account numbers, social security numbers, etc) to businesses using social media.  Avoid posting that you will be away from home or out of town on your social media accounts  Think before “checking in” at a location on your social networks.  Don’t mention in a public social media post that you are home alone. 
