2. What is LLN?
Open innovation platform to facilitate the
exchange of knowledge, expertise and facilities
and accelerate the development of applications in
the field of Nanomedicines
EFRD grant to kick start and demonstrate the
added-value
Started in October 2017
3. Core partners & Project Details
Goal: provide SMEs easy and flexible access to
knowledge and infrastructure for nanomedicine
development, -delivery and –production
Initiated by:
5. (1) Assessment of partner’s needs
■ Easy access to partners
■ Access to specific infrastructure and (clinical) expertise
■ Overview of regionally accessible facilities & expertise
■ Active organization of platform including business development support
■ Network meetings
6. (2) Assessment of partner’s supply
■ Knowledge, knowhow and expertise = most important ‘’facility’’ provided that…

– Exchange results in financial means
– Exchange takes preferably place on the basis of co-development or project-based
collaboration
However… there is room for CRO-activities
7. (3) Organisationmodel LLN
RRFRTCs
RTC: Radboud Technology Centers (Radboudumc)
RRF: Radboud Research Facilities (RU)
In order to connect supply and demand
Embedding in existing initiatives
Front-end organisation vs. actual collaboration
Nanomedicine-
related facilities
8. ■ Integration with existing initiatives
■ Create overall menu of available facilities
■ Expand the network of partners
■ Improve (online) visibility of existing initiatives including LLN
Requires application-oriented descriptions instead of technology-push
Follow-up activities
