  22. 22. NTXISSA.org Recruiter Engagement 22
  23. 23. NTXISSA.org Recruiter Engagement Tactic Email - Find this on their LinkedIn profile - Use the “Expanded View” feature - Call their office and ask LinkedIn Connection Requests - Recruiters need your connection - Recruiters know other recruiters 23
  24. 24. NTXISSA.org Email Message to Recruiters “Please pipeline me for future project manger opens. I am local to Plano, TX and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. My target salary is $150K with room for a discussion based on budget or mid-point.” 24
  25. 25. NTXISSA.org Email Signature to Recruiters 25 Best regards, Bob Smith Project Manager BobS392@Gmail.Com 214-333-9999 Dallas, Texas 75024
  26. 26. NTXISSA.org Email Message – Recruiter Speak “Please pipeline me for future project manger opens. I am local to Plano, TX and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. My target salary is $150K with room for a discussion based on budget or mid-point.” 26 The words “pipeline” and “opens” tell the recruiter you know their language their keywords. Less drama for them usually nets more opportunities for you!
  27. 27. NTXISSA.org Email Message – Future “Please pipeline me for future project manger opens. I am local to Plano, TX and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. My target salary is $150K with room for a discussion based on budget or mid-point.” 27 You use “future” deliberately. This way you are not demanding something be done “now.” If they have a current opening – they will reach out…
  28. 28. NTXISSA.org Email Message – Job Title “Please pipeline me for future Project Manger opens. I am local to Plano, TX and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. My target salary is $150K with room for a discussion based on budget or mid-point.” 28 Use a generic, industry standard job-title. This makes you the easy candidate to work with & it proves you are self-aware.
  29. 29. NTXISSA.org Email Message – Legal Stuff “Please pipeline me for future project manger opens. I am local to Plano, TX and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. My target salary is $150K with room for a discussion based on budget or mid-point.” 29 Providing location & sponsorship info expedites reporting! It saves a few emails… But more importantly – it makes you the easier and faster candidate to submit.
  30. 30. NTXISSA.org Email Message – The Money “Please pipeline me for future project manger opens. I am local to Plano, TX and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. My target salary is $150K with room for a discussion based on budget or mid-point.” 30 Yes… salary… knowing your number makes you a candidate they will want to engage. It typically allows the recruiter to send your info to the hiring manager without questions. (And yes - you can always negotiate if there is an offer.)
  31. 31. NTXISSA.org Email Message – Business Acumen “Please pipeline me for future project manger opens. I am local to Plano, TX and will not require sponsorship now or in the future. My target salary is $150K with room for a discussion based on budget or mid-point.” 31 The word “budget” & “mid-point” tell them you understand two things: 1) salary is a cost- item and 2) an HR guideline you have worked with before.
  32. 32. NTXISSA.org Email Signature – Use it 32 Best regards, Bob Smith Project Manager BobSmith392@Gmail.Com 214-333-9999 Dallas, Texas 75024 Sharing your details in the email signature allows the recruiter to reach you faster. It is the easiest thing to do – but too few do it…
  33. 33. NTXISSA.org Email Signature – Be Normal 33 Best regards, Bob Smith Project Manager BobS392@Gmail.Com 214-333-9999 Dallas, Texas 75024 Be brief here… Use the name you go by (for now). List the same JT as in the message of the email. Yes, include the email & phone – it brands you as the easy candidate to work with.
  34. 34. NTXISSA.org Email Signature – Stop This… 34 Best regards, Bob Smith Project Manager BobS392@Gmail.Com 214-333-9999 Dallas, Texas 75024 Everyday is like a sunset, no 2 are the same…spread the sun beams… Lastly – do not include your favorite quote, emojis, wall-paper, icons, badges, photos or other “graphic” items or cool fonts… Keep it simple for maximum readability.
  35. 35. NTXISSA.org LinkedIn Message for Recruiters (Working With Less Room) 35
  36. 36. NTXISSA.org Li Connection Request to Recruiters “Please pipeline me for future Project Manger opens. Thanks in advance for accepting my connection request, Bob Smith Project Manager 214-333-9999” 36 Because of the high- number of connection requests recruiters receive – very important to be as brief as possible. The phone number will make you look “legit.” The email is omitted as LinkedIn changes its terms of use frequently.
